A lavish five-course dinner paired with wines from one of France’s oldest appellations in the southern Rhone region is set for April 16 at Café Boulud at The Brazilian Court.

Six wines from Chateau La Nerthe and Châteauneuf-du-Pape will be served with the meal, which begins at 7 p.m. and is part of an ongoing series of monthly wine dinners at Café Boulud, 301 Australian Ave.

The dinner courses and their wine pairings have been planned under the oversight of executive chef Christopher Zabita, head pastry chef Rosana Quintero and chief sommelier David Sauer.

Langoustine aux asperges blanches accented by Marcona almond, lemon confit and verbena is the first course, followed by coquilles grillées au safran with PEI mussels, tomato confit and puffed wild rice.

Other courses include chicken Basquaise with piperade, chorizo and pickled ramps, and lamb Provençal with ratatouille, kalamata olive and chickpea panisse. Two different wines will be served with the lamb.

A chèvre mousse with poivre du Sichuan will be featured as part of the final course.

The April 16 wine dinner at Café Boulud is $270 a person.
