Emily looks set to pack her bags once again for the sixth season of the Netflix hit series “Emily in Paris”, according to an industry media report that she is headed for Monaco and Greece in an upcoming season after leaving Paris for Rome.
Variety reported in April that filming for season six was set to start in May and that it would also be shot in Greece and Monaco.
At the end of the fifth season, the chef Gabriel (Lucas Bravo) writes Emily (Lily Collins) a postcard inviting her to Greece. The show’s protagonist and the chef had a romantic episode in the first season and have been circling each other ever since.
Netflix and the filmmakers have given no details on how things will continue for the two of them in the sixth season.
Tudum, Netflix’s fan hub, quoted series creator Darren Star in a report on the new filming locations: “The show is Emily in Paris. It’s never going to permanently leave its home base. But if I can take the audience on a journey somewhere else, I would love that.”
The romantic comedy is about the ambitious marketing expert Emily (Lily Collins) from Chicago who moves to the French capital for work. Season five, released in December 2025, was also set in Rome and Venice.
French President Emmanuel Macron previously waded into the debate about the show’s migrating location, telling Variety that “Emily in Paris” in Rome makes no sense and saying he would “fight hard” to keep the hit Netflix series anchored in Paris.
Macron’s intervention underscored how the show is seen in France as a soft-power boost and tourism showcase, not just entertainment.
A cameo from Brigitte Macron in a restaurant scene also shows how the series has crossed over from Netflix escapism into a high-profile cultural export.
