Quavo will drop his new single “TRANCE” on Friday, Aug. 14, according to a post on his Instagram page. Pharrell handles production duties. The track arrives as part of the buildup for the Atlanta rapper’s next album, which Pharrell is steering as executive producer.
The music video for “TRANCE” has been wrapped. Quavo filmed the clip in Spain during World Cup final celebrations.
Pharrell has crafted several hits in recent months, including T.I.’s platinum single “Let Em Know” and Lil Baby’s “Dead Fresh.” His fingerprints appear across multiple chart-topping records.
The Atlanta rapper first gained fame as part of Migos. Offset and Takeoff rounded out the trio. The group was really one of the biggest acts in hip-hop during the 2010s. They pushed trap music into mainstream consciousness.
Quavo Huncho, his debut solo album, came out in 2018 with plenty of high-profile features. He later released Rocket Power in 2023. That project served as a tribute to Takeoff and remains his most recent full-length release.
The upcoming album marks another phase in his solo career. Having Pharrell executive produce the entire project brings a different creative approach to the recording process, one that might shift his sound in unexpected ways, according to Hip-Hop Vibe.
“Haavin” kicked off the current rollout earlier this year, produced by Pharrell and connected to the Louis Vuitton Men’s Spring-Summer 2027 show. The connection makes sense given Pharrell’s role within Louis Vuitton as a fashion executive.
Quavo has continued working with younger artists. He teamed up with Yeat and BNYX for “New Trip” in November 2025. BNYX has built a strong reputation as a producer, with credits that span work with Drake and Travis Scott.
Young Thug previously revealed plans to sign Quavo. The two are even looking to start a label together.
The single will give fans another preview. What direction will the album take? Quavo has experimented with different sounds and styles since his last project, and “TRANCE” could provide more clues about where he wants to go next.
