D23: THE ULTIMATE DISNEY FAN EVENT — DISNEY EXPERIENCES SHOWCASE
New details revealed for first-ever Lion King attraction coming to Disneyland Paris
As Saturday night’s Disney Experiences Showcase, Imagineers Ali Rubenstein and Emily “Emo” O’Brien shared details on Disney’s first-ever Lion King-themed attraction. The new Lion King “immersive world” is under construction now at Disney Adventure World at Disneyland Paris. The immersive new area will sit alongside Adventure Bay, near the recently-opened World of Frozen.

Guests will be taken into the Pride Lands and experience the world from the 1994 Disney animated classic. The Pride Lands will feature dining, shopping, and an all-new flume attraction. The 120-foot-tall Pride Rock will be home to the thrilling new musical attraction that will take guests on journey through Simba‘s life, from cub to king! Guests will enter the caves beneath Pride Rock and go on a journey that includes the iconic music from the film and memorable scenes featuring Audio Animatronics, special effects, and more!

The ride will include all of the highlights from Simba’s life — the happy and the bad. Below, new concept art shows a reimagining of the climactic battle between Simba and his evil Uncle Scar.

On the D23 show floor, the Imagineering pavilion gave a look at another scene in model form, as well as Rafiki’s tree, and a maquette of the attraction’s ride vehicle.
