FARMINGTON — Rural Parish Medical and Dental Clinic expanded its medical services to Farmington, beginning a new chapter of providing health care to area residents through its mobile clinic. The clinic’s first mobile unit visit to Farmington was Feb. 26, providing a day of medical services with a full patient schedule.
Rural Parish Clinic said the opening marked an expansion intended to provide greater access to health care for people in need in the Farmington community.
The clinic said staff and volunteers welcomed patients and began building relationships focused on compassionate, quality care.
The expansion of service capabilities continues as the clinic prepares to enhance its mobile unit with a new EKG machine with spirometry capabilities and advanced Wi-Fi technology. First State Community Bank’s Farmington location is partnering with the Federal Home Loan Bank of Des Moines to provide a Member Impact Fund grant to help purchase the equipment.
The new equipment is expected to enhance the mobile unit’s ability to provide timely care to rural communities, according to First State Community Bank.
John Denkler, CEO of First State Community Bank, presented the grant to the Rev. Parra of St. Joseph Parish and Terri Cammarata, president of Rural Parish Clinic. The bank said it was honored to partner with the Federal Home Loan Bank of Des Moines in supporting the clinic and organizations that serve local communities.
Rural Parish Clinic thanked its volunteers, supporters and partners who have helped make the expansion possible.
The clinic said it plans to continue growing its services and serving more members of the Farmington community in the coming weeks and months.
