The new Tiffany Timer Titanium Platinum watch celebrates 160 years since the introduction of Tiffany & Co.’s first chronograph: the 1866 Timing Watch.
It features a 40mm satin-brushed titanium case, a polished platinum bezel, and signature Tiffany Blue dial accents.
The watch is powered by a customised Zenith El Primero 400 movement topped with the Tiffany Timer’s intricate, hand-sculpted Bird on a Rock rotor in 18k gold.

Back in 1847, Charles Lewis Tiffany noticed his customers were craving seriously precise timekeeping. Trusting his gut, he introduced the brand’s very first stopwatch in 1866: the Tiffany & Co. Timing Watch. Renamed simply the “Timer” two years later, it arrived just as Tiffany set up its first Swiss workshop, which blossomed into a full Geneva factory by 1874. Fast forward to today, and Tiffany is marking 160 years since that original chronograph with a stunning, 100-piece limited-edition Timer encased in titanium and platinum. It follows a 60-piece limited-edition platinum model released earlier this year, sporting a Tiffany blue dial and custom chronograph movement. As the house rolls out its ambitious plan to conquer the modern watch market, this sleek revival proves Tiffany has the real-deal horological chops to compete with the best of them.

At 40mm, the new Tiffany Timer hits the sweet spot for everyday wear. The case is crafted from lightweight, satin-brushed Grade 5 titanium, but Tiffany has paired it with a polished platinum bezel for a sharp, unexpected contrast on the wrist. If you look closely, the curved chronograph pushers follow the case’s lines, cleverly doubling as crown guards that keep the shape sleek and uncluttered. It’s a confident look that takes clear cues from the older CT60 collection. Finally, with a scratch-resistant sapphire crystal and a solid 10 ATM water resistance rating, the watch is certainly built to be worn out in the real world rather than tucked away for special occasions.

Beneath the crystal is a deep dark blue dial finished with a sunray effect. Naturally, the brand has incorporated its signature Tiffany Blue to provide distinct points of contrast. These iconic blue accents appear on the outer chronograph seconds track, the sub-dial markers, and the neatly hidden date window at 6 o’clock. The layout follows a traditional triple-register format. Running seconds are located at 9 o’clock, chronograph minutes at 3 o’clock, and chronograph hours at 6 o’clock. Applied steel indexes and white gold hands complete the display, while the application of the brand’s distinct colour palette offers a balanced and measured restraint, similar to what we see in recent releases like the Eternity by Tiffany Wisteria.

Beneath the engraved titanium caseback, and viewable through a sapphire window, the Tiffany Timer runs on a customised Zenith El Primero 400 calibre. If you know watches, you know the El Primero is a pure legend. It changed the game in 1969 as the world’s first integrated automatic chronograph, and its high-frequency beat is still famous today. This column-wheel workhorse packs a 50-hour power reserve, too. The caseback is an open-worked rotor featuring a tiny, hand-sculpted 18k yellow gold replica of Jean Schlumberger’s famous 1965 Bird on a Rock – a symbol that has been Tiffany & Co.’s signature symbol for over six decades.

Measuring just 1.4cm wide, artisans meticulously polish the gold by hand, making the little bird pop beautifully against the mechanical backdrop. To top it off, the caseback is engraved with “Limited edition of 100”. The watch is fitted with a navy blue alligator leather strap to complement the dark blue sunray dial and secures to the wrist with a triple-folding clasp made from a combination of steel and titanium.

The titanium and platinum Tiffany Timer is a serious piece of watchmaking that does real justice to the 1866 original. By pairing lightweight titanium and heavy platinum with a legendary Zenith calibre, Tiffany has built a genuinely capable chronograph that stays true to the brand’s identity. If you want one, you’ll have to act fast: it’s strictly limited to 100 pieces worldwide, with a release date set for September 2026.
