Lacey Chabert has an update on the idea to have a Hallmark musical set in the South on Easter.
“I got asked that question so many times afterwards. ‘Do you really want to do an Easter Southern musical?’ That was kind of a joke, but sure!” Chabert told PauseRewind’s Elizabeth Stanton at the finale premiere for “Paris is Always a Good Idea.”
But is it happening?
“I can’t tell you. Mum’s the word,” she teased, before quickly clarifying, “No, there hasn’t been.”
The musical isn’t in the works, but there could be a cooking show. Chabert recently displayed her skills in the kitchen making a crème brûlée, on theme with the finale for her Hallmark limited series “Paris is Always a Good Idea” is airing tonight.
But Chabert’s cooking specialties aren’t specifically French.
When asked what she would focus on if she had a cooking show, Chabert replied, “All Southern food. I’m from Mississippi. My dad’s from Louisiana, so I grew up eating the most delicious Cajun food, and my mom makes the most incredible Southern dishes. You know, so yeah, something definitely with a focus on Southern food.”
As for the “Paris is Always a Good Idea” finale, Chabert is excited for fans to find out how the story of Chelsea, who revisits three past loves while traveling Europe, ends.
“I think it’s a really great ending. All of the stories really get questions get answered,” Chabert said. “The stories are final and beautiful, and I just loved the journey of this story so much. It was romantic. We had to go to so many beautiful places. The family relationships I thought were really beautiful, and you know, it was what Hallmark does best. It’s always so heartfelt, and I was I just enjoyed playing Chelsea so much.”
Chabert’s co-star and love interest in the series Scott Michael Foster also thinks fans will be excited for the ending, even if he’s not certain of what happens.
“Oh boy, I’m so not prepared for this. I am still catching up on the show. I mean, I know the show because I’ve shot it months ago, and I’m afraid I’m going to give anything away. So all I can say is tune in. I loved how it ends. I think it’s our writers did a really good job. I’ve said that a lot before, but it really is true that they did a great job adapting the story. And I think fans are going to get more than they expect and everything they want, I think.”
Foster had his own romantic European getaway with his recent wedding to Carson Fagerbakke in England.
“It was awesome. It went off without a hitch. It was beautiful. So we couldn’t be happier,” Foster said, happily flashing his wedding ring for the camera.
He continued, “We had such a good time. Like literally, knock on wood, it was just one of those things where you hope it goes well, and like everything went as good as it could have gone. So yeah, [we’re] truly happy.”
Foster previously told PauseRewind his plans to have a coffee cart at the wedding reception and according to the groom, it was the perfect addition.
“Everyone said [it was a] big hit. Everyone was like, ‘Oh, it was perfect’ because the minute you have a little bit of a lull, you go to the coffee cart, you get yourself a latte, and then you hit the dance floor, and you’re ready to go.”
The “Paris is Always a Good Idea” finale airs tonight on Hallmark+.
