Photographed for the first time by Matt Easton, the campaign sees a continuation of Karl Lagerfeld’s ‘From Paris With Love’ brand story which seeks to blend Hilton’s dynamic personality with the label’s own codes. Digital character ‘Not-Karl’ makes his debut in the campaign, bearing a striking resemblance to the late, eponymous designer, and shown through a series of television screens to bring an element of “playful irreverence” to the shoot.
“Paris has brought energy, authenticity, and a strong sense of individuality to our campaigns over the past two seasons,” said Karl Lagerfeld’s CEO Pier Paolo Righi in a press release. “Continuing that relationship while introducing Not-Karl feels particularly meaningful. As a new member of the brand’s world, he brings wit and irreverence, creating an unexpected dialogue with Paris and giving us new and innovative ways to play with format, storytelling and perspective while remaining true to Karl’s point of view.”
The campaign is designed to begin what will become a wider narrative for the ‘Not-Karl’ character, according to the label. Hilton, the face of the brand’s womenswear, and Butler, the face of menswear, are also joined in the campaign by two surprise cameos.
“Continuing the relationship feels incredibly special,” said Paris Hilton. “Every campaign has felt like its own moment, and I love that we keep finding new ways to bring our worlds together. Having Not-Karl on set made this shoot feel so iconic and just unexpected- it brought such a magical energy. I’m excited for what’s to come next!”
Led by creative director Hun Kim, Karl Lagerfeld’s brand family also includes brand ambassador Sebastien Jondeau and impact ambassador Amber Valletta. The label retails in over 200 stores worldwide, including its premium wholesale and franchise partners, and its key locations span Paris, London, Munich, Dubai, and Shanghai.
