Renault has upgraded its Scenic E-Tech to help boost this electric SUV’s range while introducing a series of new features.
The Scenic E-Tech Electric was first revealed back in 2023, reviving a nameplate which had traditionally been worn by practicality-focused MPVs. For this new model, Renault decided to move the Scenic into the popular SUV segment.
Now updated, the Scenic has gained an increased range courtesy of a slightly larger battery. It means that a full charge can now deliver up to 399 miles, an increase of 20 miles over the older car.
Google’s Gemini AI tech is now included
With a peak charging speed of 150kW, the Scenic should go from 10 to 80 per cent in just under 30 minutes when hooked up to a rapid charger.
This ‘Long Range’ model is accompanied by a revised ‘Comfort Range’ car which gains a 7kWh increase in battery size and, as a result, brings 30 more miles than before to a total range of 290 miles. As with the Long Range model, a 10 to 80 per cent charge should take just under 30 minutes.
Inside, standard Techno trim cars now get front and rear seats finished in a fabric which is made up to 95 per cent recycled yarn. It’s been fitted to the Scenic for better comfort and support than the previous car’s upholstery, according to Renault.
The sporty Esprit Alpine trim, meanwhile, has a new interior trim called ‘spectral titanium’ which draws inspiration from the spectrum of light.
The Scenic’s interior is large and spacious
Two new exterior colours – Satin Blue Slate and Exo Galaxy Grey – have also been added to the range of available shades for the Scenic. At the front and rear of the car, the bumpers have been finished in gloss black while two new alloy wheel designs in 19- and 20-inch diameters have been added.
Renault has broadened the range of assistance features available on the Scenic, too. Highlights include an upgraded Active Driver Assist system which has revised elements such as emergency stop assist. The Scenic now gets a ‘realistic view’ of the area around the car to highlight detected vehicles more clearly in the screen ahead of the driver.
Drivers can now use Google’s Gemini AI assistant for the first time, using it to find destinations or even suggest nearby restaurants or attractions.
Renault is expected to announce UK pricing and specifications for the new Scenic shortly.
