Dassault Aviation announced on September 4, 2026 the opening of registration for the new edition of its inter-school student competition dedicated to drone design.
Organized since 2014, this initiative is aimed at students from engineering schools and universities, with the objective of bringing participants closer to the issues faced by an aircraft manufacturer.

A student challenge focused on drone design
The Dassault UAV Challenge is an annual inter-school student competition that brings together mixed teams of 2 to 6 students per school around a common objective: design, automate and optimize a drone.
Participants mobilize skills such as aeromodeling, automation, programming, electronics and machine learning, as well as project and team management.

After several weeks of selection, the competition runs for more than 6 months for design, development and testing, followed by 2 days of competition for finalists during a weekend in May next.
An immersive day is organized for the winning team. Registration for the 2026/2027 edition is open until September 27, 2026 inclusive.
