Paris Fury has spoken out about the family rift between Tyson and his father John – and insisted one is “probably more headstrong than the other.”
John, who used to train The Gypsy King, recently revealed his relationship with Tyson is “completely destroyed”. Their relationship fell apart when the former heavyweight champ announced his boxing return against Arslanbek Makhmudov, a fight he won by unanimous decision earlier this month.
Paris discussed their fractured relationship on Jamie Laing’s In Good Company podcast, where she slammed rumours that the feud was a PR stunt to promote his boxing return. She admitted: “Tyson and his dad seem to have a rocky relationship at the moment.”

The mum-of-seven admitted they’ve been “on and off for years”. She explained: “They always go through this. You know you’ve got two very headstrong people. One probably more headstrong than the other.”
“Everyone’s saying it is a social media stunt and it’s not. It’s a family rift that’s going on at the moment and I hope they resolve it because I think there’s nothing more important than your family.

“I know they love each other deeply deep down and for whatever reason whether it be pride, or whatever – they have an issue, his dad has an issue. And I hope they can resolve it.”
Paris added: “Tyson knew his dad had certain feelings to people in the camp and he, he’s always said I am my own man and I’ll do things my own way, and he has always done that.

“And that this is where he’s got for it, so he looks at it like I’ve done my own choices all my life. His dad’s had opinions on different things he shouldn’t have done in the past and he’s done and it’s went unbelievably well. He said don’t fight Deontay Wilder. It’s the best trilogy in boxing history.”
Tyson recently revealed that he and John’s relationship broke down because his dad wanted him to retire after beating Deontay Wilder in 2020.
Earlier this month, John told Daily Mail: “My relationship with Tyson is destroyed. But, don’t forget who built his story when he was a kid. He didn’t build it himself, did he? Me, his father.”

Addressing the rift earlier this month ahead of his fight, Tyson said: “I’m unaware of what has happened but he’s entitled to his opinion. Just like everyone is and I’m sure he’ll change it a million times over and over again. I haven’t really paid attention to it because I take it with a pinch of salt.
“He might have been upset, he might have been a bit down or he might have been depressed. I don’t know what he was going through.
“I don’t know if he will turn up and I don’t care. I’ve got business to take care of and who’s in the crowd is not important to me at all. All I am going to be thinking about is Arslanbek Makhmudov and looking forward to it and getting the job done.”
