Originally opened in 2008, the San Diego boutique reopened on Thursday with a refreshed design created by Paris-based architecture firm RDAI.

The exterior is characterized by a bespoke terracotta-toned ceramic brick façade and large windows that offer views into the boutique, while the boutique’s interior flows through a playground of colors, textures and geometric shapes.

Inside, the boutique opens with the silk universe at its center, flanked by the fragrance, beauty and fashion jewelry collections on one side and home décor on the other. The space then transitions into leather goods and equestrian collections before leading to a vibrant private lounge. Jewelry and watches anchor the central area, while men’s and women’s footwear seamlessly connects to the surrounding ready-to-wear collections.

The reopening also introduces a curated selection of works from the Émile Hermès Collection and the Hermès Collection of Contemporary Photographs. Among the featured artists are French photographer Cécile Bortoletti, whose palm tree imagery references the California landscape, and Italian-Australian artist Lisa Sorgini, whose work Heatwave in Montenegro evokes a seaside atmosphere.

Last month, Hermès opened a new megastore, on London’s New Bond Street.
