{"id":10138,"date":"2026-04-29T10:46:13","date_gmt":"2026-04-29T10:46:13","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/france\/10138\/"},"modified":"2026-04-29T10:46:13","modified_gmt":"2026-04-29T10:46:13","slug":"france-wants-to-change-how-billions-in-aid-are-distributed","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/france\/10138\/","title":{"rendered":"France wants to change how billions in aid are distributed"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Paris: <a ref=\"dofollow\" data-ga-onclick=\"Inarticle articleshow link click#News#href\" href=\"https:\/\/m.economictimes.com\/topic\/france\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">France<\/a> will push for a recast of key metrics that decides the flow of billions of dollars in developmental aid during its <a ref=\"dofollow\" data-ga-onclick=\"Inarticle articleshow link click#News#href\" href=\"https:\/\/m.economictimes.com\/topic\/g7-presidency\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">G7 presidency<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe need to reform structurally the way we do development,\u201d said <a ref=\"dofollow\" data-ga-onclick=\"Inarticle articleshow link click#News#href\" href=\"https:\/\/m.economictimes.com\/topic\/eleonore-caroit\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">Eleonore Caroit<\/a>, minister delegate to the minister for Europe and Foreign Affairs, responsible for <a ref=\"dofollow\" data-ga-onclick=\"Inarticle articleshow link click#News#href\" href=\"https:\/\/m.economictimes.com\/topic\/francophonie\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">Francophonie<\/a>, international partnerships, and French citizens abroad.<br \/>G7 member countries include the US, Canada, the UK, Germany and France.<\/p>\n<p>She said, while the agenda may seem technical, it is political as changes to metrics of DAC or Development Assistance Committee under the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development.<\/p>\n<p>These metrics form the key basis on which countries qualify for aid, how much support that they can receive and how development progress is measured.
