Promotion:<\/a> the Shinnoki wood panel collection by interior wood<\/a> specialist Descopan has been utilised for the interiors of French watchmaker Yema’s flagship boutique<\/a>. <\/p>\n

Shinnoki is featured on the walls of the boutique, located in Paris, France, which was designed by French interior studio Agence V\u00e9ronique Cotrel<\/a>.<\/p>\n

The studio sought to reflect the watchmaker’s mechanical heritage with its use of the panels, which, according to Descopan<\/a>, are produced to “emphasise materiality and precision”.<\/p>\n

The Terra Sapele panel, from the wider 18 look collections, was selected for the boutique’s primary surfaces for its reddish-brown tones, to create a contrast with traditional watchmaking materials, including stainless steel and glass.<\/p>\n

The panel’s vertical grain direction was also favoured to add height and rhythm to the space.<\/p>\n

The panels spotlight the tactility of real sapele wood, without the risk of misaligned patterns that can occur with traditional raw veneers.<\/p>\n

Agence V\u00e9ronique Cotrel selected the panels to ensure a visual consistency in the space, utilising the full Shinnoki system with matching edge banding and laminates.<\/p>\n

The Terra Sapele panel is found across the large-scale, architectural walls to the smaller furniture details in the space, including bespoke cabinetry.<\/p>\n

\"yemaA matte finish was selected to ensure Yema’s products “remain the focal point” of the boutique<\/p>\n

“By using the Shinnoki collection, the designers were able to achieve a level of visual continuity,” said Descopan.<\/p>\n

“This is achieved through Decospan’s ‘mixmatch’ technique, where various veneer strips are randomly but intentionally joined.”<\/p>\n

“The resulting surface has a natural, varied appearance without the repetitive patterns often seen in lower-grade wood products.”<\/p>\n

The designers’ choice of Shinnoki panels was also driven by the intent to enhance the boutique’s longevity as a high-end retail store.<\/p>\n

Utilising ready-to-install, pre-finished panels, each is treated by a six-layer varnishing process to create a “durable and tactile” finish.<\/p>\n

The panels also feature an integrated industrial lacquer, suited for high-touch areas of the space, including an integrated bar and lower storage units.<\/p>\n
