The 43-year-old silver fox recently dyed his tresses a near-black color, and he addressed the decision in a new Instagram video on Wednesday, April 29.<\/p>\n
\u201cDon’t freak out. I know my hair’s dark. It’s fine,\u201d France began the clip, before amending, \u201cWell, no, it’s not. I know it’s very weird to see me with dark hair. It’s weird to see myself with dark hair.\u201d<\/p>\n
The Queer Eye star went on to share that the new look is for a role he’s filming, saying he wasn’t intending on publicly sharing the dark \u2018do but after several run-ins with fans, he felt he needed to explain.<\/p>\n
\u201cI wasn’t going to share this at all, but I’ve been out twice in the last couple days, and people are very confused,\u201d France said. \u201cSo I just need to make it clear, this is not a midlife crisis.\u201d<\/p>\n
The father of two added, \u201cI hate dark hair on me. I love my silver hair. I love my grays. I’m not ashamed of them whatsoever. I’m really proud of my grays.\u201d<\/p>\n
France said that after his undisclosed project wraps, he plans to return to his roots.<\/p>\n
\u201cI’m gonna go right back \u2014 hopefully \u2014 to my natural color in the next month or two,\u201d he promised. \u201cDon’t freak out.\u201d<\/p>\n
According to IMDb, France is currently filming the holiday comedy Clashing Through the Snow alongside Christopher Briney, Julia Fox, Lukas Gage and more.<\/p>\n
The film is a contemporary take on Planes, Trains and Automobiles, which follows two co-workers who go on a cross-country road trip.<\/p>\n

In January 2025, he debuted a much more cropped haircut after his past pompadour got some online hate.<\/p>\n \u201cI would love to say it’s because I just fancied a change,\u201d the stylist told <\/a>Page Six<\/a> at the time<\/a>. \u201cBut really, what sparked it was I did something that I try really hard not to do \u2014 which is I looked at comments about myself after the new season.\u201d<\/p>\n Adding that fans expressed the look made him appear \u201cuptight,\u201d France decided to make the change.<\/p>\n \u201cI saw so many people hate my hair. And I thought, \u2018Oh, I didn’t realize they hated [it] so much. So maybe I’ll try something [new] while I’m still ‘relatively’ young,’\u201d he said.<\/p>\n
