Paris Jackson is the 28-year-old daughter of Michael Jackson and Debbie Rowe. Her brother Prince is an executive producer of the film Michael, and her cousin Jafaar is actually starring as Michael. However, Paris has made it very, very clear that she\u2019s not as involved with the Michael Jackson movie. Here\u2019s why.<\/p>\n

Paris did take a look at the script<\/p>\n

Okay, so Paris did play a small part in the very early stages of the Michael Jackson<\/a> film. Back in August 2025, Colman Domingo<\/a> \u2013 the actor who plays Joseph Jackson in the film \u2013 said Paris and Prince were \u201cvery much in support of our film\u201d. He claimed he \u201cchatted briefly\u201d with Paris about the film, and she was \u201cnothing but lovely and warm\u201d.<\/p>\n

Paris then took to Instagram to outline exactly what she did (and didn\u2019t do) for the film.<\/p>\n

She wrote on her story: \u201cDon\u2019t be telling people I was \u2018helpful\u2019 on the set of a movie I had zero per cent involvement in lol. That is so weird. I read one of the first drafts of the script and gave my notes about what was dishonest [and what] didn\u2019t sit right with me.\u201d<\/p>\n

In a follow-up video, Paris clarified: \u201cI wan\u2019t involved at all, aside from giving feedback on the first draft.\u201d<\/p>\n

She seemed to dislike the direction the film went it<\/p>\n

According to Paris, the team behind the film did not take on board her notes as much as she would\u2019ve liked. In the video on Instagram, she explained: \u201cI just butted out and left it alone because it\u2019s not my project. They\u2019re going to make whatever they\u2019re going to make.\u201d<\/p>\n

Paris did give some insight into why she wasn\u2019t enthused about the script. She said: \u201cA big reason why I haven\u2019t said anything up until this point is because I know a lot of you guys are gonna be happy with it. A big section of the film panders to a very specific section of my dad\u2019s fandom that still lives in the fantasy, and they\u2019re gonna be happy with it.\u201d<\/p>\n

Paris added: \u201cThe thing about these biopics is, it\u2019s Hollywood. It\u2019s fantasy land. It\u2019s not real \u2026 at the end of the day, that doesn\u2019t really fly with me.\u201d Ouch.<\/p>\n

The film Michael ends with his performance at London\u2019<\/a>s Wembley Stadium in 1988. The movie does not cover his later years, such as his trial in 2005<\/a>.<\/p>\n
