The Auburn basketball team is still competing in the NIT, but they have already started making additions for next year’s roster. They announced the signing of 7-foot French center Narcisse Ngoy on Tuesday.<\/p>\n
\u201cHe\u2019s a high-upside young man who brings toughness, physicality, and a team-first mindset to everything he does,\u201d head coach Stephen Pearl said. \u201cNarcisse has a strong feel for the game on both ends of the floor. His instincts, ability to catch and finish around the basket, rim protection, and willingness to embrace contact will make him an immediate impact while filling a huge need for our team.\u201d<\/p>\n

Ngoy competed in the French Elite 2 League last season, leading the league with 11.5 rebounds and 2.5 blocks, while adding 10.8 points per game. He is shooting 70.1% from the field and did not attempt a three-pointer.<\/p>\n
The Tigers are losing starting center KeShawn Murphy, and backup Emeka Oporun has not played since December due to an injury. Pearl has been impressed by Ngoy’s competitive nature and willingness to do whatever it takes for his team to win.<\/p>\n
