The French electronic duo first appeared at the Accor Arena show on Sunday night (May 3) as the surprise openers, following much speculation online after Tame Impala ticket holders received a cryptic email teasing a special guest, with the \u2018T\u2019 emphasised in capitals.<\/p>\n

After the pair opened the show with Paul McCartney and Wings\u2019 \u2018Live and Let Die\u2019, Kevin Parker<\/a> stormed through a series of hits in his set, including \u2018Borderline\u2019, \u2018Feels Like We Only Go Backwards\u2019, \u2018Let It Happen\u2019, and the recently released \u2018Dracula\u2019.<\/p>\n

After playing \u2018New Person, Same Old Mistakes\u2019, Parker launched into the encore and was joined by Gaspard Aug\u00e9 and Xavier de Rosnay to perform their 2024 collab \u2018Neverender\u2019<\/a>, taken from the critically acclaimed album \u2018Hyperdrama<\/a>\u2019.<\/p>\n

Before that track was released, de Rosnay told\u00a0NME\u00a0that they had been listening to Parker\u2019s material \u201cfrom almost the beginning\u201d<\/a>, but once turned down the opportunity to remix a big Tame Impala tune.<\/p>\n

The electronic duo have been on the road for much of 2025, including a run of headline tour dates and countless festival appearances. The latter has included\u00a0a stop at Mad Cool last weekend, which\u00a0NME\u00a0praised as a visual \u201cspectacle\u201d.<\/a><\/p>\n

As for Tame Impala, \u2018Deadbeat<\/a>\u2019 scored\u00a0a three-star review from\u00a0NME<\/a> when it arrived last year, and noted that \u201cParker has grown outside his comfort zone, only to strike a kind of lyrical inertia that becomes detrimental to his new vocabulary of music\u201d.<\/p>\n

Parker will also be\u00a0heading to the UK and Europe for an extended run of arena shows this month<\/a>, including\u00a0shows in London, Manchester, Birmingham,\u00a0Glasgow\u00a0and Dublin\u00a0(find tickets here<\/a>), before\u00a0the tour then\u00a0heads to North America later in the summer<\/a>.<\/p>\n
