Ordering 60 units, France T\u00e9l\u00e9visions becomes the first broadcaster to deploy Imagine’s SNP-XS as it continues its migration to ST 2110<\/p>\n

Imagine Communications has announced that France T\u00e9l\u00e9visions is deploying its SNP-XS solution as part of the broadcaster\u2019s ongoing migration to ST 2110.<\/p>\n

Forming a central pillar of its strategic initiative to drive ST 2110 connectivity between all regional stations and its Paris-area data centres, SNP-XS\u2014the latest addition to Imagine\u2019s Selenio Network Processor (SNP) family\u2014aims to enable high-quality, low latency media exchange across all locations. Additionally, the deployment enables the exchange of data with operations that have already migrated to the ST 2110 standard, said the company.<\/p>\n

Using the 2022-7 protocol for full redundancy, the architecture aims to ensure resilience for the broadcaster as its modernisation programme continues, with full media exchange targeted to be operational by the end of this year.<\/p>\n

Featuring the same capabilities as the SNP platform, SNP-XS offers flexible I\/O configurations and is designed for operation in space-constrained environments including edge deployments, facility expansions, remote routing endpoints, mobile production and more.<\/p>\n

The broadcaster has used Imagine\u2019s SNP for three years, initially deploying the platform to support its UHD coverage of the 2024 Paris Olympics. The devices were then redeployed to its Paris MCR alongside additional SNPs across its playout operations, studios, digital platform, and two new OB trucks.<\/p>\n
