Queer Eye star Tan France<\/a>, 43, just made a drastic change to his most iconic feature, i.e., his silver quiff, and it is already creating quite some buzz both on the internet.<\/p>\n

The entrepreneur\u2019s hair is now nearly black, and the color is seemingly here to stay for a while. He recently took to Instagram to share the reason behind his transformation and reassure fans that the change isn\u2019t due to a \u201cmidlife crisis\u201d or something concerning.<\/p>\n

In an Instagram video posted on April 29, France shared that he didn\u2019t originally intend to share his hair transformation online, but certain real-world social interactions left him no choice. And as it turns out, the new hairdo is for a new role he\u2019s playing.<\/p>\n

Showcasing his new hair in the clip, France noted, \u201cDon\u2019t freak out. I know my hair\u2019s dark. It\u2019s fine,\u201d adding, \u201cWell, no, it\u2019s not. I know it\u2019s very weird to see me with dark hair. It\u2019s weird to see myself with dark hair.\u201d<\/p>\n

He continued, \u201cIt\u2019s for a job. It\u2019s for a role\u2026 I wasn\u2019t going to share this at all, but I\u2019ve been out twice in the last couple days, and people are very confused. So I just need to make it clear, this is not a midlife crisis.\u201d<\/p>\n

Stating how much he \u201chates\u201d dark hair on himself, France said he loves his grays and hopes to go back to his natural color once he\u2019s done filming the unnamed project, which will likely take one or two more months.<\/p>\n

The last time France shocked his fans with a hair transformation was back in January 2025. At the time, he chopped his pomp off and took the internet by storm.<\/p>\n

Explaining his decision, he told Page Six,<\/a> \u201cI would love to say it\u2019s because I just fancied a change. But really, what sparked it was I did something that I try really hard not to do \u2014 which is I looked at comments about myself after the new [Queer Eye] season.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cI saw so many people hate my hair. And I thought, \u2018Oh, I didn\u2019t realize they hated [it] so much. So maybe I\u2019ll try something [new] while I\u2019m still \u2018relatively\u2019 young,\u2019\u201d the then-41-year-old Queer Eye host told the outlet.<\/p>\n
