Organised by the European Spas Association, the Bulgarian Union of Balneology and SPA Tourism and HTI Conference &amp; Expo, the event highlighted Bulgaria\u2019s growing role as a European hub for health, spa and medical tourism.<\/p>\n<p>Destination award: redefining the European thermal model<\/p>\n<p>The Destination award was presented to\u00a0Domaine de Marlioz\u00a0for redefining what a modern thermal destination can be through regeneration, prevention, and community impact.<\/p>\n<p>Recognised for its visionary blend of ecological regeneration, public health innovation, and community-driven transformation, the destination stands as a model of how European spa destinations can reinvent their future with purpose and impact.<\/p>\n<p>The Special Jury Award went to\u00a0Pamporovo, which has transformed a mountain resort into a health-focused destination where climate, nature, and medical expertise come together to support respiratory wellbeing and recovery.<\/p>\n<p>Medical spa excellence: Lithuania sets a new benchmark<\/p>\n<p>The Medical Spa Award was presented to\u00a0Egl\u0117s Sanatorija\u00a0for its transformation into a modern, evidence-based, personalised and digitalised medical wellbeing destination.<\/p>\n<p>The jury highlighted its shift from traditional treatments to coordinated health programmes, combining advanced diagnostics, personalised care and digital follow-up to deliver measurable results and long-term health outcomes.<\/p>\n<p>A Special Jury Award recognised\u00a0MARE SPA by Gradiali\u00a0for creating a wellness experience centred on personal guidance, smart technologies and long-term balance and wellbeing.<\/p>\n<p>Innovation awards: new models shaping the sector<\/p>\n<p>In spa design,\u00a0Kashmir Hotel\u00a0received the main award, while\u00a0The Five Elements Hotel\u00a0was recognised with a Special Jury Award.<\/p>\n<p>A major innovation award went to\u00a0Addere Care\u00a0for introducing a completely new model in Europe: a Wellness Nursing Hospital combining medical care, rehabilitation, palliative support and spa wellbeing under one roof.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"1616\" height=\"1080\" src=\"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/france\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/05\/DSC00300.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-176722\" style=\"aspect-ratio:16\/9;object-fit:cover;width:700px\"  \/>\u00a9 ESPA<\/p>\n<p>The Special Jury Award in this category went to\u00a0King\u2019s Valley Medical and Spa Hotel.<\/p>\n<p>Programmes and products addressing modern health challenges<\/p>\n<p>The Innovative Health Spa Programme award was presented to\u00a0Savoy Westend Hotel\u00a0for its Diabetes Mellitus+ programme, combining medical diagnostics, personalised treatments and digital monitoring to support long-term disease management.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"1080\" height=\"1616\" src=\"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/france\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/05\/DSC00313.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-176718\" style=\"width:auto;height:600px\"  \/>\u00a9 ESPA<\/p>\n<p>The jury also recognised\u00a0Grand Hotel Bansko.<\/p>\n<p>In the product category,\u00a0GENTIQUE\u00a0received the award for translating longevity science into a high-quality supplement line designed to improve vitality and well-being.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"1616\" height=\"1080\" src=\"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/france\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/05\/DSC00328.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-176732\" style=\"aspect-ratio:16\/9;object-fit:cover;width:700px\"  \/>\u00a9 ESPA<\/p>\n<p>Education and science: shaping the future of wellness<\/p>\n<p>The Innovative Spa Education award went to the\u00a0Bled Water Forum\u00a0and its Young Global Academy, recognised for redefining how water is understood as a scientific, sensory and health-giving resource.<\/p>\n<p>In the Medical Spa Science category,\u00a0Spirit Hotel Thermal Spa\u00a0was awarded for its Sweet Dreams programme, which reimagines sleep environments by reducing electrosmog and combining medical expertise with thermal therapies to support deep, restorative sleep.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"1080\" height=\"1616\" src=\"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/france\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/05\/DSC00390.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-176725\" style=\"width:auto;height:600px\"  \/>\u00a9 ESPA<\/p>\n<p>Bulgaria strengthens its position in European health tourism<\/p>\n<p>Throughout the summit, speakers emphasised the growing importance of prevention, longevity and integrated care models.
