Additionally, it’s now been confirmed that the Saints will be facing off with the Pittsburgh Steelers. It had been previously reported by French outlets earlier this year it would be the Cleveland Browns, but instead it’s another AFC North team.

New Orleans owns the all-time lead in this series 9-8, powered by three consecutive wins from 2010 to 2018. The Saints fell short in a 2022 road game 20-10 with Andy Dalton at quarterback; he was outdueled by rookie Steelers QB Kenny Pickett, who rushed for 51 yards and a pivotal touchdown on the afternoon. That loss bumped the Saints down to 3-7 on the year and effectively put the NFC South title out of reach. The Saints have done well overseas with International Series wins over the San Diego Chargers in 2008 and Miami Dolphins in 2017, but they lost to the Minnesota Vikings by a field goal in 2022. The Steelers are 1-1 in international matchups, having beaten the Vikings 24-21 in Dublin, Ireland last year to get some payback for their loss to those same Vikings back in 2013 at London, England’s Wembley Stadium.

Buy New Orleans Saints tickets for 2026

While it’s frustrating to see the Saints lose another home game in New Orleans, at least it’s happened in a year where they had nine of them instead of just eight. And this is looking like a very lucrative opportunity for the Saints given Louisiana’s historical ties to France. It’s just a shame that New Orleans will have not benefited from the extra home game every other year. Since the NFL expanded to its 17-game regular season schedule in 2021, the Saints have played all nine home games in New Orleans just once, in 2024. Their next opportunity is in 2028. Maybe they can make it to the playoffs and host a home game or two, to rebalance those scales.

Expert NFL picks: Exclusive betting insights only at USA TODAY.

May 13, 2026, 8:02 a.m. CT It’s official.
