As part of the agreement, both companies will work together to identify potential project sites and evaluate implementation pathways.<\/p>\n<p>Focus on EPR Technology and Localization<\/p>\n<p>A key focus of the collaboration is the evaluation of EDF\u2019s European Pressurized Reactor (EPR) technology for its suitability in Indian conditions. The two entities will also explore opportunities for localization, enabling domestic manufacturing and supply chain participation to support large-scale deployment.<\/p>\n<p>Additionally, the MoU includes:<\/p>\n<p>Assessment of economic and tariff viability of nuclear projects<\/p>\n<p>Development of skilled human resources through training initiatives<\/p>\n<p>Exploration of long-term operational and technological collaboration<\/p>\n<p>Strengthening India\u2019s Clean Energy Goals<\/p>\n<p>This move aligns with NTPC\u2019s broader strategy to diversify into clean, reliable, and baseload energy sources. Nuclear energy is expected to play a crucial role in ensuring energy security while reducing carbon emissions.<\/p>\n<p>Currently, NTPC has an installed capacity exceeding 89 GW, with around 32 GW under construction. The company is targeting a total capacity of 149 GW by 2032, with a strong emphasis on renewable and low-carbon energy sources.<\/p>\n<p>A Step Toward Energy Security<\/p>\n<p>The NTPC-EDF collaboration marks a strategic step toward strengthening India\u2019s long-term energy security.
