A woman was gobsmacked when she checked the price <\/a>of a Herm\u00e8s scarf in a Chelsea charity shop.<\/a><\/p>\n Herm\u00e8s is well-known for its high-quality garments, including its very desirable bags, such as Birkins and Kellys. Most of the items are handmade, and the making of each product is considered an art form, as they take so long to make. When it comes to the scarves specifically, they are often made using slow crafts like hand-printing, hand-painting or stitching, which quickly raises their value as they cannot be mass-produced, thus giving them a high retail price, with some Herm\u00e8s scarves on their website <\/a>costing as much as \u00a35,410.<\/p>\n Danielle, who posts on TikTok as @charityshoplife, said she was shopping in Chelsea when she saw the “coolest thing” that she’s “spotted in a charity shop window”.<\/p>\n Content cannot be displayed without consent<\/p>\n “Not one, but two tiger print Herm\u00e8s scarves,” she gushed, as she showed a clip of her asking staff to take the scarves out for her so she could have a look.<\/p>\n Danielle said there was “no price in the window”, so she asked to have a closer look at the scarves, as she showed them off to the camera.<\/p>\n “The detail was just incredible. Look at the colours,” she gushed, clearly keen to take one home for herself. The scarf showed a white tiger moving through a stunning, vibrant scene of purple flowers, and it’s also made from silk to make it even more desirable.<\/p>\n But since they were in a charity shop, she thought she might be able to bag herself a bargain compared to the retail price.<\/p>\n However, Danielle then found out that each of the Herm\u00e8s scarves was \u00a3650, which she said was “out of her personal budget”.<\/p>\n Shockingly, to some, the desirable Herm\u00e8s scarf is also being sold on eBay for \u00a31,342.53, so realistically, the charity shop is offering a huge bargain in comparison to other retailers.<\/p>\n Because Danielle doesn’t like to gatekeep where she finds amazing, unique pieces, she shared the scarves were in the Royal Trinity Hospice, so if they’re “in your budget and you want to go and buy them,” you can!<\/p>\n In the comments of her video, Danielle wrote: “They were stunning. Maybe one day I\u2019ll have a Herm\u00e8s scarf!”<\/p>\n Someone else penned: “So far out of my budget, but I WANT THEM,” and so did most other people in the comments section.<\/p>\n Herm\u00e8s benefits from collectability and scarcity.
