AUBURN HILLS, Michigan, May 21 (Reuters) – Stellantis set out a new 60 billion \u200ceuro ($70 billion) business plan on Thursday that \u200cincludes 60 new car models by 2030 – from combustion \u200bengine to fully electric vehicles – new investments in technology, joint ventures with other carmakers and better use of its manufacturing capacity.<\/p>\n
The Franco-Italian carmaker \u200csaid it \u2060would also refocus its sprawling 14-brand portfolio, with 70% of brand and \u2060product investments going to Jeep, Ram, Peugeot and Fiat, as well as commercial vehicle unit \u200bPro One \u200bdue.<\/p>\n
CEO Antonio Filosa’s \u200bpitch later on Thursday \u200cto investors at the group’s capital markets day on Auburn Hills, Michigan, is a major shift in the carmaker’s strategy.<\/p>\n
The world’s No. 4 automaker seeks to turn its structural \u200cdisadvantage of having far too \u200bmuch unused factory capacity \u200binto a revenue-generating \u200bcontract manufacturing business for Chinese automakers \u200cin Europe and other \u200bcarmakers like \u200bTata Motors unit JLR in the United States.<\/p>\n
