Milan Fashion Week has officially wrapped, and with it comes a new era at Fendi<\/a>. On Monday morning, the brand announced Silvia Venturini Fendi\u2019s new role as honorary president of the Roman house. In her new post, she will focus on promoting and preserving the brand\u2019s legacy in addition to taking on duties with Fendi Casa, the brand\u2019s home line.<\/p>\n

Following Karl Lagerfeld\u2019s death<\/a> and Kim Jones\u2019s<\/a> tenure, Venturini Fendi expanded her duties as artistic director of menswear and accessories to include womenswear\u2014bringing the full scope of the brand\u2019s portfolio under a single creative director during its centennial year<\/a>. Her new role will leave an opening for new talent\u2014amidst a sea of top-level changes in the industry.<\/p>\n

\u201cSince 1992, Silvia has greatly contributed to shaping Fendi\u2019s creative direction and has been pivotal to the brand\u2019s international success,\u201d said Ramon Ros, CEO and chairman of Fendi, in a statement. \u201cHer vision has guided Fendi from its Roman artisanal roots into the future, culminating in the celebration of the house\u2019s 100-year anniversary. I am thrilled to see the new projects that Silvia will lead in her new position, contributing not only to Fendi\u2019s legacy and values but the world of design and craftsmanship around the world.\u201d<\/p>\n

Silvia represents the third generation of the Fendi family and has always been a guiding hand in the house\u2019s direction\u2014now, she has an opportunity to take on a different voice. \u201cThese have been truly exciting years, a journey I have walked in the name of my grandmother Adele, my mother Anna, and her sisters,\u201d said Venturini Fendi in the press release. \u201cWhat a wonderful journey it has been, not only creatively but also from a human perspective: first through my bond with Karl Lagerfeld, then with Kim Jones, and last but not least, with my fantastic team, which over the years has become part of my family.\u201d<\/p>\n

No official announcement has been made yet regarding a new creative director (or directors), though the company promised the news would be revealed \u201cin due time.\u201d<\/p>\n
