A figure of understated strength, Catherine was no society debutante; she was a fighter. As a member of the French Resistance, she gathered intelligence, aided covert communications, and endured the unthinkable after being captured and deported to Ravensbrück and other Nazi concentration camps. Her survival alone was an act of rebellion, but her unwavering belief in liberty, dignity and the silent power of purpose made her a revolutionary spirit.

<img decoding="async" class="mb-[6px]" loading="lazy" src="https://www.europesays.com/france/wp-content/uploads/2026/05/77-2637377407-689df01792786.jpg" width="634" height="408" alt="Domaine des Naysses, Catherine Dior’s home and beloved garden in the south of France. While conceptualizing the fragrance, Kurkdjian found deep inspiration not only in Catherine’s defiance and femininity, but also in Domaine des Naysses, Catherine’s home and beloved garden in the south of France, where she cultivated flowers and quiet strength in equal measure.

“Fruity, luscious, juicy… and sensual!” Kurkdjian says of the new scent. “I imagined Miss Dior Essence as a sexy and irreverent pop-art statement, like a reflection of the Serge Gainsbourg song ‘Comic Strip,’ which goes ‘SHEBAM! POW! BLOP! WIZZ!’” That sense of vibrant, liberated joy pulses through every note of the composition. Blackberry and elderflower open with a jammy brightness that still sparkles with freshness, while jasmine at the heart offers a faithful nod to the 1947 original. However, its floral character takes on bolder, more mouthwatering dimensions, mirroring the lush bounty of Catherine’s gardens. The dark, enveloping oak base adds warmth and depth, a grounding touch inspired by the woodlands that framed her Provençal sanctuary.

When Christian Dior named his very first fragrance Miss Dior in 1947, it was more than a tribute—it…

[12728
2115,4084,2793,5157,14872,17297,4955,7406,7247,12867
post-23468","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","has-post-thumbnail","category-christian-dior","tag-art","tag-brands","tag-christian-dior","tag-design","tag-entrepreneurs","tag-furnishings","tag-lvmh","tag-skincare","tag-wellness","tag-womenswear
["GET
