departments,\u201d Shishido said.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.3ds.com\/products\/catia\" action=\"internal_link\" category=\"navigation\" label=\"https:\/\/www.3ds.com\/products\/catia\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">CATIA<\/a>\u2019s ability to handle\u00a0large assemblies will also enable transformation of the design process. \u201cBy using the 150% BOM function, engineers can design about 300 variations of product specifications effectively,\u201d Harada said. \u201cThis means it becomes possible to visualize the product as a whole, including option specifications, while improving the standardization ratio and promoting modular design based on comprehensive spatial planning.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>CATIA will also make it much easier for Kobelco Construction Machinery\u2019s designers to consider the commonality and modularization of structures and parts. \u201cWe will be able to apply changes to a common part at the touch of a button, instead of having to open and change each 3D model,\u201d Shishido said.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI\u2019m using <a href=\"https:\/\/www.3ds.com\/products\/catia\/3dexperience-catia\" action=\"internal_link\" category=\"navigation\" label=\"https:\/\/www.3ds.com\/products\/catia\/3dexperience-catia\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">3DEXPERIENCE CATIA<\/a> for electrical control design, and the ability to link the circuit design with the harness design is the best feature,\u201d said Tomomi Kan,\u00a0a designer in\u00a0Kobelco Construction Machinery\u2019s\u00a0planning group in the development operation management department of the product development engineering division. \u201cFor example, when there\u2019s a design change in the circuit, it\u2019s immediately reflected in the harness design as well.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Meanwhile, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.3ds.com\/products\/simulia\" action=\"internal_link\" category=\"navigation\" label=\"https:\/\/www.3ds.com\/products\/simulia\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">SIMULIA<\/a> will be used to help Kobelco Construction Machinery\u2019s engineers perform structural analysis. \u201cWe believe SIMULIA will help improve the accuracy of physical prototyping so that we can begin mass production in about half the time we usually take,\u201d Shishido said.<\/p>\n<p>By accelerating the engineering process and overall organizational efficiency, Kobelco Construction Machinery expects to provide products and services that enhance corporate value, and further advance
