The Brooklyn-based artist has built a practice around the moment the familiar room stops obeying itself, when a sofa, curtain or ceiling becomes less a boundary than an invitation to cross into stranger weather.

The scene begins with a body disappearing into the upholstered depths of a couch, only to reappear elsewhere, slipping through drapery in a room turned upside down. The narrative folds in on itself again when an arm sinks into a bowl of pale liquid and emerges through the ceiling of the original interior, clutching a glowing globe. Its cord snakes through the composition like a trail of evidence, grounding the surreal sequence in something strangely tangible.

Olson’s wit lies in how little he needs to rupture reality. Yet enlarged beyond their proportions and bordered by mirrors, they become unstable, theatrical and faintly menacing. The storefront no longer behaves as display, but as a threshold.

Step close, and the ordinary begins to split open. Olson invites us to look past the glass and accept another grammar of space without resistance. 706 Madison Ave

At Hermès Madison Avenue, Jeremy Olson turns the storefront window into a passageway between worlds, where polished interiors…

[12919
2115,5273,18144,5157,13874,17297,4953,9608,16050
post-24744","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","has-post-thumbnail","category-hermes","tag-art","tag-artists","tag-decor","tag-design","tag-designers","tag-furnishings","tag-hermes","tag-home-design","tag-shops
["GET
