The actress, nominated twice this evening for Golden Globes as Best Actress in The Testament of Ann Lee and Long Bright River has made the statement necklace her red carpet signature. Tonight she is wearing a necklace with more than ten carats of diamonds from \u201cSea of Wonder,\u201d the Tiffany & Co. 2025 Blue Book Collection presented to clients and press at an event at the Metropolitan Museum earlier this year.<\/p>\n

The collection, designed by Tiffany creative director Nathalie Verdeille, is inspired by the imagination and archive of legendary designer Jean Schlumberger<\/a>. Schlumberger was known for taking inspiration from the natural world<\/a>, every aspect of it, from flora and fauna to stars, signs, and the deep blue sea<\/a> (Seyfried wore his famed double Poissons necklace on the red carpet. The two sea creatures meet in the middle over an orange sapphire). As with her other red carpet choices, tonight\u2019s piece it is not a simple line necklace but a major piece of jewelry with stones and metal and craftsmanship on full display.<\/p>\n

Seyfried on the red carpet with director Mona Fastvold. Along with her Tiffany diamonds, Seyfried wore a draping white Versace gown.<\/p>\n

Seyfried and her stylist Elizabeth Stewart do not shy away from adornment. Most recently the actress wore archival 1950s Tiffany\u2014including a necklace and a diamond watch\u2014at the Critics\u2019 Choice Awards. At the Toronto Film Festival, the house\u2019s iconic Bird on a Rock<\/a> became a diamond necklace with a large and rare aquamarine at the center. There was the emerald and diamond necklace at the Academy Museum Gala and then that excellent black choker with the Bird on a Rock brooch in Venice.<\/p>\n

Her Globes necklace continues the trend\u2014and her jewelry streak. And perhaps with it comes a dose of jewelry wisdom: fear not the necklace.<\/p>\n
