Max Alexander met legendary costume designer Bob Mackie and gifted him a custom rhinestone-embellished bow tie<\/p>\n

The 10-year-old fashion prodigy toured Mackie\u2019s designs and posed for a photo with his “hero”<\/p>\n

Mackie praised Max\u2019s talent, calling his future \u201cvery bright\u201d in a comment on the young designer\u2019s Instagram post<\/p>\n

On Tuesday, June 9, the 10-year-old fashion prodigy \u2014 who previously made history after becoming the youngest designer to ever show at Paris Fashion Week<\/a> this past March \u2014 revealed he’d recently had the opportunity to meet legendary costume designer Bob Mackie<\/a> in a video on his Instagram<\/a>.<\/p>\n

At the beginning of the clip, Max could be seen hard at work on his sewing machine as he finished a custom bow tie for Mackie. “Max had one thing left to finish before meeting his hero,” text over the video read.<\/p>\n

Max smiled as he finished the yellow tie, which was embellished with rhinestones. He then packaged it up in a gift box and took it with him to meet Mackie.<\/p>\n

The next clip showed Max meeting Mackie and handing over the box. The veteran designer opened his gift, smiling as he held up the bow tie. Max was then taken around to see some of Mackie’s designs before the two posed together in a photo.<\/p>\n

“A day he will remember for the rest of his life. Bob is the legendary designer behind some of the most iconic stage costumes in fashion history!\ud83d\ude4c,” the caption on Max’s Instagram read. “Thank you @bobmackie<\/a> for making this dream come true.”<\/p>\n

Mackie also commented on the post, writing, “Max you have a very bright future ahead of you! xo Bob.”<\/p>\n

This past March, Max debuted the Max Alexander Women’s Ready to Wear Fall\/Winter 2026-2027 collection<\/a> at Paris\u2019 Palais Garnier. The showcase came just days after Alexander turned 10<\/a>, making him the youngest designer to have presented a collection at the French capital’s Fashion Week, according to multiple outlets, including CBS LA<\/a> and Vogue France<\/a>.<\/p>\n

The sustainable collection of 15 looks was inspired by florals. The dressmaking prodigy told PEOPLE at the time that he was just happy people could see his designs.<\/p>\n

\u201cI am happy I got to show the world my designs,\u201d said Max, \u201cand maybe encourage people to think about reuse and not buying so much fast fashion.\u201d<\/p>\n
