{"id":34814,"date":"2026-06-12T14:31:08","date_gmt":"2026-06-12T14:31:08","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/france\/34814\/"},"modified":"2026-06-12T14:31:08","modified_gmt":"2026-06-12T14:31:08","slug":"cma-cgm-ccec-order-lng-bunkering-vessel-in-china","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/france\/34814\/","title":{"rendered":"CMA CGM, CCEC order LNG bunkering vessel in China"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Evangelos Marinakis-backed, US-listed LNG carrier owner CCEC announced in a statement on Friday the formation of a 50\/50 joint venture with shipping giant CMA CGM.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The JV has been established for the purpose of constructing, chartering, and operating one 20,000 cbm dual-fuel LNG bunkering vessel.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">In connection with this transaction, the JV has entered into a shipbuilding contract with Nantong CIMC Sinopacific Offshore &amp; Engineering (CIMC SOE) for the construction of the vessel at a contract price of $82.8 million, with delivery expected in the third quarter of 2028, CCEC said.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">In addition, the JV is expected to enter into a 12-year time charter with a joint venture company formed between CMA CGM and French energy giant TotalEnergies, commencing upon delivery of the vessel from the shipyard, CCEC added.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The JV marks CCEC\u2019s entry into the LNG bunkering segment, the company\u2019s first vessel dedicated to marine fuel supply.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">LNG Prime was <a href=\"https:\/\/lngprime.com\/asia\/cma-cgm-capital-ink-loi-with-cimc-soe-for-lng-bunkering-vessels\/180528\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">the first to report this move<\/a>, citing shipbuilding sources, in March this year.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Sources told LNG Prime at the time that the JV of Capital and CMA CGM signed a letter of intent with CIMC SOE for up to two LNG bunkering vessels.<\/p>\n<p>CMA CGM and TotalEnergies<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">This will also be the first LNG bunkering vessel owned by CMA CGM.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Last year, TotalEnergies and CMA CGM<a href=\"https:\/\/lngprime.com\/europe\/totalenergies-cma-cgm-to-launch-lng-bunkering-jv\/157711\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">\u00a0signed a deal<\/a>\u00a0to develop a 50\/50 logistics joint venture dedicated to implementing and operating an LNG bunkering supply solution at the Dutch port of Rotterdam.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The joint venture will capitalize on TotalEnergies\u2019 established logistics infrastructure in the ARA region, where the 18,600-cbm LNG bunkering vessel Gas Agility has been in operation since 2020.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">As part of this new logistics joint venture, a new LNG bunkering vessel will be positioned in Rotterdam by the end of 2028 and jointly operated.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">In August, China\u2019s Hudong-Zhonghua<a href=\"https:\/\/lngprime.com\/asia\/hudong-zhonghua-to-build-another-lng-bunkering-vessel-for-totalenergies\/158852\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">\u00a0said<\/a>\u00a0it had secured another order to build one 18,600-cbm LNG bunkering vessel for TotalEnergies and Spain\u2019s shipping firm Ibaizabal.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Hudong-Zhonghua\u00a0stated that this is an optional vessel as part of the 1+1 order<a href=\"https:\/\/lngprime.com\/asia\/hudong-zhonghua-confirms-totalenergies-order-for-lng-bunkering-vessel\/118236\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener nofollow\">\u00a0announced in July last year<\/a>, and it is scheduled for delivery in 2028, with plans to serve\u00a0in the Dutch port of Rotterdam.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"Evangelos Marinakis-backed, US-listed LNG carrier owner CCEC announced in a statement on Friday the formation of a 50\/50&hellip;\n","protected":false},"author":2,"featured_media":34815,"comment_status":"","ping_status":"","sticky":false,"template":"","format":"standard","meta":{"footnotes":""},"categories":[13062],"tags":[24718,24719,24720,2213,3238,5726],"class_list":["post-34814","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","has-post-thumbnail","category-cma-cgm","tag-capital-clean-energy-carriers","tag-capital-maritime","tag-capital-product-partners","tag-cma-cgm","tag-total","tag-totalenergies"],"_links":{"self":[{"href":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/france\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/posts\/34814","targetHints":{"allow":["GET"]}}],"collection":[{"href":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/france\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/posts"}],"about":[{"href":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/france\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/types\/post"}],"author":[{"embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/france\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/users\/2"}],"replies":[{"embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/france\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/comments?post=34814"}],"version-history":[{"count":0,"href":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/france\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/posts\/34814\/revisions"}],"wp:featuredmedia":[{"embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/france\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/media\/34815"}],"wp:attachment":[{"href":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/france\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/media?parent=34814"}],"wp:term":[{"taxonomy":"category","embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/france\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/categories?post=34814"},{"taxonomy":"post_tag","embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/france\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/tags?post=34814"}],"curies":[{"name":"wp","href":"https:\/\/api.w.org\/{rel}","templated":true}]}}
