{"id":36413,"date":"2026-06-16T15:42:12","date_gmt":"2026-06-16T15:42:12","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/france\/36413\/"},"modified":"2026-06-16T15:42:12","modified_gmt":"2026-06-16T15:42:12","slug":"hermes-opens-new-london-flagship-combining-six-grade-ii-listed-buildings","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/france\/36413\/","title":{"rendered":"Herm\u00e8s opens new London flagship combining six Grade II listed buildings"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>French luxury fashion house Herm\u00e8s has opened a new flagship at 166 New Bond Street in London, its largest store in Europe.<\/p>\n<p><a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/www.theindustry.fashion\/ads\/source-ad-dt-pu-2\/\" target=\"_blank\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"720\" height=\"300\" src=\"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/france\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/06\/720-x-300-industry.fashion.png\" class=\"no-lazy-load wp-post-image\" alt=\"\"  \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p><a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/www.theindustry.fashion\/ads\/nextail-ad-2-mob-pu\/\" target=\"_blank\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"300\" height=\"250\" src=\"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/france\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/06\/EoS-1.png\" class=\"no-lazy-load wp-post-image\" alt=\"\"\/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Comprising six Grade II listed buildings, set over five floors with 55 rooms and four elevators, it is described by Wallpaper as \u201ca staggering paean to construction and craft\u201d, conceived by architect Denis Montel who started the project with Rena Dumas Architecture Int\u00e9rieure (RDAI) in 2021.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-295104\" class=\"wp-image-295104 size-full\" src=\"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/france\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/06\/bc51.jpeg\" alt=\"Herm\u00e8s flagship on Bond Street, Photo: Val\u00e9rie Sadoun for Herm\u00e8s\" width=\"805\" height=\"1000\"  \/><\/p>\n<p id=\"caption-attachment-295104\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Photo: Val\u00e9rie Sadoun for Herm\u00e8s<\/p>\n<p>Replacing Herm\u00e8s\u2019 previous London home at 155 New Bond Street, along with its concession at Selfridges, the combined six buildings for the new store consist of 165, 166, 167 New Bond Street, 16 Grafton Street and 22 and 23 Albermarle Street, boasting 2,000 sq meters (21,528 sq ft) of space, which also includes two roof terraces.<\/p>\n<p>Visitors are welcomed into the &#8220;spacious&#8221; to the atrium, which was originally an outdoor space but now is covered by a new steel and glass roof.<\/p>\n<p>A limestone and glass staircase, with handmade handrail finished in calfskin, connects all of the floors.<\/p>\n<p><a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/www.theindustry.fashion\/ads\/tif-summit-ad-mob-bb-pu-eb\/\" target=\"_blank\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"600\" height=\"500\" src=\"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/france\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/06\/MOB-POPUNDER-300-x-250-px-13.gif\" class=\"no-lazy-load wp-post-image\" alt=\"\"\/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Leading up to the first floor is a series of twenty intercommunicating rooms, beginning with those in red hues, which are dedicated to the leather goods collections.<\/p>\n<p>Through the second entrance an &#8216;imaginary orangerie&#8217; contains the beauty, perfumes and fashion jewellery areas, featuring walls commissioned from London-based illustrator Katie Scott.<\/p>\n<p><a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/www.theindustry.fashion\/ads\/nextail-ad-2-dt-pu\/\" target=\"_blank\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"720\" height=\"300\" src=\"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/france\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/06\/EoS-2.png\" class=\"no-lazy-load wp-post-image\" alt=\"\"  \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-295105\" class=\"wp-image-295105 size-full\" src=\"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/france\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/06\/cda2.jpeg\" alt=\"Herm\u00e8s flagship on Bond Street, Photo: Val\u00e9rie Sadoun for Herm\u00e8s\" width=\"1000\" height=\"665\"  \/><\/p>\n<p id=\"caption-attachment-295105\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Photo: Val\u00e9rie Sadoun for Herm\u00e8s<\/p>\n<p>Much of the new ornamentation, colour and d\u00e9cor was sourced in the UK and commissioned from British craftsmen and artists, including panels of patinated copper, boiserie shaped in straw and horsehair marquetry.<\/p>\n<p>Custom finishes and details combine historic Georgian, Victoria and Edwardian elements, and there\u2019s Lancashire-made textured wall coverings, first developed in Victorian times, traditional wood panelling, ceilings in powder pink mineral mortar, as well as 500 unique artworks chosen by Herm\u00e8s\u2019 Artistic Director, Pierre-Alexis Dumas.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-295102\" class=\"wp-image-295102 size-full\" src=\"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/france\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/06\/7708.jpeg\" alt=\"Herm\u00e8s flagship on Bond Street, Photo: Val\u00e9rie Sadoun for Herm\u00e8s\" width=\"774\" height=\"1000\"  \/><\/p>\n<p id=\"caption-attachment-295102\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Photo: Val\u00e9rie Sadoun for Herm\u00e8s<\/p>\n<p>Herm\u00e8s said that with the opening, the house is pursuing its &#8220;long-term development strategy based on its creative, artisanal and sustainable model, as well as its multilocal spirit.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>It added that it is &#8220;delighted&#8221; to welcome visitors to &#8220;explore this space of boundless creativity and to discover Herm\u00e8s\u2019 know-how within a joyful atmosphere that resonates with its surroundings.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>Founder &amp;
