{"id":40330,"date":"2026-06-24T04:59:19","date_gmt":"2026-06-24T04:59:19","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/france\/40330\/"},"modified":"2026-06-24T04:59:19","modified_gmt":"2026-06-24T04:59:19","slug":"thales-dutch-ministry-expand-radar-production-capacity-in-the-netherlands","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/france\/40330\/","title":{"rendered":"Thales, Dutch Ministry Expand Radar Production Capacity in the Netherlands\u00a0"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>\t\t\t<a href=\"https:\/\/dronefront.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">&#13;<br \/>\n    <img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/france\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/06\/1781197179_626_WhatsAppVideo2026-05-15at09.23.58.gif\" alt=\"The Drone Front\" width=\"1280\" height=\"539\"\/>&#13;<br \/>\n<\/a><\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Thales and the Dutch Ministry of Defence have <a href=\"https:\/\/www.thalesgroup.com\/en\/news-centre\/press-releases\/thales-and-dutch-ministry-defence-sign-strategic-partnership-expand\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener nofollow\">signed<\/a> an agreement to expand radar production and testing infrastructure in the Netherlands.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The initiative will focus on Thales\u2019 facilities in Hengelo, in the eastern part of the country, and include the construction of new testing and manufacturing infrastructure.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Planned investments include a near-field radar test site equipped with an anechoic chamber, expanded production capacity for complex printed circuit boards, and an additional radar test tower.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The agreement also provides for the development of training facilities.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Thales expects the project to increase antenna production capacity by 60 percent between this year and 2028.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cDue to the rapid technological developments and the deteriorating global security situation, the Dutch Ministry of Defence has identified an urgent need to increase the availability and scalability of <a href=\"https:\/\/thedefensepost.com\/2024\/04\/19\/thales-ground-radars-netherlands\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener nofollow\">critical radar capabilities<\/a> for the protection of the Netherlands and Europe,\u201d stated the company.<\/p>\n<p>Recent Programs<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The agreement follows several recent Thales programs spanning missile systems, unmanned platforms, and defense manufacturing initiatives.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Earlier this month, the company partnered with South Korea\u2019s Hanwha Aerospace to explore integrating <a href=\"https:\/\/thedefensepost.com\/2026\/06\/22\/hanwha-thales-chunmoo-launcher\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener nofollow\">Chunmoo guided rockets and missiles<\/a> into the X-Fire launcher, a modular long-range fires system designed to support multiple munition types.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Thales has also joined forces with French aerospace company AURA AERO on the Enbata medium-altitude, <a href=\"https:\/\/thedefensepost.com\/2026\/06\/22\/thales-aura-aero-isr-drone\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener nofollow\">long-endurance drone program<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The platform will incorporate Thales\u2019 AirMaster C radar to support intelligence, surveillance, and reconnaissance missions.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Separately, the company <a href=\"https:\/\/thedefensepost.com\/2026\/06\/19\/france-toutatis-mass-production\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener nofollow\">signed a deal with Renault Group<\/a> to industrialize production of the Toutatis loitering munition.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The project combines Thales\u2019 defense technologies with Renault\u2019s manufacturing expertise and aims to significantly increase France\u2019s domestic drone production capacity.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"&#13;
