The two Evian-les- Bains, France\u2019s events, Evian conference of 1938 and 2026 G7 summit, have much in common: toxicity toward Jews and Israel.\n<\/p>\n
The air of French resort along Lake Geneva, the Evian-les-Bains, where on July 15, 1938, happened an Evian conference and from June 15 to 17, 2026 was a G7 summit, is permeated with negativity toward Jews and Jewish State.\n<\/p>\n
In September of 1938, the persecution of Jews in Germany by Nazis reached the unimaginable level. The government of Germany had legislated and started to implement the Nuremberg Laws, which main purpose was to marginalize and humiliate their countrymen and women of Jewish ancestry. In March of 1938, the Nazis annexed Austria to Germany (the Anschluss). The vicious Nuremberg Laws were now applicable to the Jews of Austria and Nazis were forcefully implementing the policy of ethnic cleansing. Thousands upon thousands of German and Austrian Jews were trying to escape the oppression and cruelty. But there were not many countries who would outstretch hand of help to these desperate people and this situation resulted in the Jewish refugee crisis.\n<\/p>\n
The president of United States, Franklin D. Roosevelt, responded to the tragedy of the European Jews by calling on other countries heads of state to meet and look for the solution to the plight of Jewish exiles. The suggestion by United States could\u2019ve been seen as a genuine humanitarian move yet its hypocrisy was evident by the country\u2019s own restrictive immigration policy and no desire to change it.\n<\/p>\n
Right from the beginning of the Evian conference, the representatives of United States and Great Britain were defying the purpose of the meeting-to help the German and Austrian immigrants. They refused to increase the immigration quotas and thus torpedoed the resolution of the crisis. Considering the U.S. and Great Britain attitude toward the disaster, the representatives of other countries responded with the same lack of interest and concern toward the Jewish refugees and refused to increase their immigration quotas justifying the decision by worsening present economic situation. \u00a0Another very important and illustrative characteristic of Evian conference is its delegates unwillingness to discuss the core root of the Jewish refugee\u2019s crisis- the antisemitic unhuman policies of Nazis regime. By avoiding proclaiming Germany as a country of unhuman racists ideology they contributed to the acceptance of Nazi Germany\u2019s sovereignty. Adolf Hitler and his government were welcoming the outcome of Evian conference -it made their goal of the \u2018final solution\u2019 to the \u2018Jewish Question\u2019 easier to implement.\n<\/p>\n
The Group of Seven (G7) represents an economic and political forum of head of states and governments of France, Canada, the United States, Germany, the United Kingdom, Japan and Italy. The European Union (EU) is part of the G7 as a \u201cnon-enumerated member\u201d. The forum meets every year at the summit. This year 2026 G7 summit was organized at Evian-les-Bains, France from June 15 to 17 and the priorities of the agenda of the summit is set by the presiding nation, this year by France and its president, Emmanuel Macron.\n<\/p>\n
Much have changed for Jews since Evian Conference in 1938. The State of Israel and Jews everywhere had celebrated its 75th anniversary in 2023. The country represents the only democracy in the Middle Eastern region yet the treacherous and hypocritical spirit of Evian Conference of 1938 hovers over the G7 Evian summit of 2026. President of France Emmanuel Macron, Prime Minister of Canada Mark Carney and Prime Minister of United Kingdom Keir Starmer and head of states of other countries are driving forward poisonous worldview toward the Jewish state.\n<\/p>\n
The Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between Iran and United States to end the war was singed on June 17, 2026, by President of U.S. Donald Trump at the Versailles Palace, during a dinner with French President, Emmanuel Macron and his wife; the President of Iran, Masoud Pezeshkian had signed it remotely in Tehran. The enthusiastic and cheerful response of the French President to MoU confirms that this document is in line with the France\u2019s continues push for Israel to cease it operation against Hezbollah in Lebanon. If implemented, the MoU ties the Jewish State hands to respond to terrorists\u2019 aggression and exposes the Israeli citizens to severe danger. Using the vocabulary intended to promote the human rights and fairness, France, Canada and United Kingdom and sixteen out of the 27 members of European Union (EU), hypocritically exhibits duplicity and sanctimoniousness by equating the Israeli\u2019s struggle for its existence with the actions of Palestinian extremists. The recognition of the Palestinian state by the members of G7 and EU, rewards terrorism and encourages Iran to prompt its proxies Hamas, Hezbollah and Houthis to continue provocations against Jewish State.\n<\/p>\n
There is a shameful similarity between the participants\u2019 of 1938 Evian Conference avoidance to acknowledge Nazi Germany as a brutal dictatorship and thus accepting its sovereignty, and G7 members, France, Canada and United Kingdom and 16 out of 27 countries of EU, to grant to the terrorists the status of legitimacy by recognizing the Palestine as a state. The antisemitic prejudice to the stateless Jewish victims in 1938 is now evident in the bias toward the State of Israel.\n<\/p>\n
It is timely to remind Trump and his administration, especially to Vice-President JD Vance and to the G7 and EU members that Hezbollah, with financing, direction and encouragement of Iran, had transformed Southern Lebanon into a terrorist stronghold. It did not happen overnight; the terror organization was creating a fortified zone for years. Hezbollah does not hide the intent of its actions-it is preparing for the invasion into Northern Israel. Yet, the responses of international community, for example Macron\u2019s France, Starmer\u2019s United Kingdom and Sanchez\u2019s Spain, present Israeli\u2019s defensive actions without mentioning the objectives of Hezbollah, revealing its offensive infrastructure and continues unprovoked missiles deployment against Jewish State. This approach obscures who is the aggressor and who is the victim. Consequently, Israel is perceived as being the reason of destabilization and obstacle to regional peace. The introduction of MoU and following speeches by President Trump and his Vice-President JD Vance contribute to the negative image of Israel as an ally who think only of her security and disregards seemingly wider international issues. It is fundamentally wrong that Israel was not part of the negotiation process producing recommendations to the current problem. The Jewish State knows the physical, political, cultural and social landscape of the Middle Eastern region and, from its enormous experience acquired during many decades, can give impartial advice. Israel was not part of the negotiations between Iran and United States which produced the MoU. Yet, it is expected from the Jewish State to follow the points of the document where the point1 says: \u201cThe United States of America and the Islamic Republic of Iran and their allies in the current war, by signing this MoU, declare the immediate and permanent termination of military operations on all fronts, including in Lebanon\u201d. It is ironic while announcing that it can defend its interests wherever and whenever she wants, U.S. tells Israel to exercise restraint in dealing with aggression.\n<\/p>\n
Here is another similarity between the Evian Conference of 1938 and Evian G7 summit of 2026. As the delegates of the Evian Conference of 1938 did not listen to the desperate pleas of European Jews, the G7 members of 2026 summit do not acknowledge the existential threat to Israel from Iranian and Hezbollah terrorists.\n\t\t<\/p>\n
