It will also create opportunities for closer industry and academic engagement, including potential student projects, internships, research activity and future funding opportunities.<\/p>\n<p June.<\/p>\n<p class=\"textcomponent__Text-sc-dhqttg-0 paragraphblock__TextStyled-sc-og9izv-0 kmXroR gSkGzN\">It will support the exploration of digital twin-based optimisation, data-driven decarbonisation and smart energy and transport solutions, using simulation tools and industrial automation technologies in research and demonstration environments.<\/p>\n<p class=\"textcomponent__Text-sc-dhqttg-0 paragraphblock__TextStyled-sc-og9izv-0 kmXroR gSkGzN\">The partnership also builds on existing collaboration between Heriot-Watt and AVEVA, including research into how digital twin technologies can support real-time monitoring, predictive maintenance, forecasting and operational optimisation for electrolysis systems.<\/p>\n<p class=\"textcomponent__Text-sc-dhqttg-0 paragraphblock__TextStyled-sc-og9izv-0 kmXroR gSkGzN\">As policymakers and industry look to flexible electrolyser operations to support renewable energy integration and low-carbon hydrogen, digital technologies are expected to play a growing role in helping organisations model, test and optimise complex infrastructure systems before they are deployed
