Last week, I walked out as CEO. What happened in between changed my life.
As we recently announced, I’m calling time on my innings at ENGIE AU,” Hyde wrote.

Related article: Engie acquires full ownership of Hazelwood BESS

“Starting in an outsourced call centre and finishing as CEO has given me a rare vantage point. I’ve seen the business from every angle—the frontline, the engine room, the middle layers that hold everything together. I’ve seen how the energy market works in theory, and how it behaves in practice. And I’ve seen how much it depends on the people who show up every day to make it work.

“If there’s one thing this journey has taught me, it’s that nothing meaningful is built alone. Leadership is custodial. I was simply fortunate to play my part for a period of time, and I look forward to seeing how the people of ENGIE in Australia continue to shape that culture and contribute to the energy transition long after I’ve finished.”

The company has not yet announced a successor, nor has Hyde confirmed his next move.

Related article: Stacks on: ENGIE upgrades Pelican Point Power Station in SA

“It is an immense understatement to say that I’m grateful for the opportunities I’ve had, and I’m energised for what comes next.
