Chairman Chang believed the artist\u2019s exploration of metal, machinery and emotion aligned closely with the airline\u2019s premium brand identity.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Custom colours developed with Pantone<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The colour schemes for both aircraft were developed by STARLUX Airlines and global colour science firm PantoneThe AIRSORAYAMA aircraft showcases Sorayama\u2019s iconic metallic \u201csilver\u201d and \u201cgold\u201d aesthetic in precision-engineered shades. It creates a fluid, liquid-metal effect that changes depth and tone with viewing angle and lighting conditions, transforming the fuselage into a visually striking object of art.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cThis time we aren\u2019t just tuning colour, we are tuning light,\u201d said Laurie Pressman, Vice President of Pantone Colour Institute in the airline\u2019s announcement. \u201cThrough specialised formulation, all visible shimmer particles were removed to achieve an almost liquid smoothness. They embody future luxury\u2014not the ostentation of traditional gold and silver, but a quiet confidence: precise, elegant, and technologically refined.\u201d\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Creating the defining metallic feature of the STARLUX AIRSORAYAMA aircraft required solving unprecedented technical challenges.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Airbus helped make the impossible paint scheme possible<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Airbus worked alongside German coatings specialist Mankiewicz to develop precision-engineered metallic paints capable of reproducing Sorayama\u2019s signature \u201cliquid metal\u201d aesthetic while meeting the demanding durability, weight and certification requirements for commercial aircraft.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Mica-based pigments produce a reflective metallic lustre while meeting rigorous commercial aviation standards. After extensive testing and validation, the paint\u2019s exact formulation underwent more than 10 iterations before Sorayama approved the signature finishes of the AIRSORAYAMA Silver and Gold aircraft.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"1024\" height=\"682\" src=\"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/france\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/07\/HMc6VyZaQAAsLPG-Large-1024x682.jpeg\" alt=\"STARLUX AIRSORAYAMA Silver A350-1000\" class=\"wp-image-43303\"  \/>Photo: STARLUX<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Once the exact colour formula was approved, engineers implemented a precision multi-layer coating process to apply the paint.
