A watercolour painter \u2013 like one of those you often see in Parisian tourist spots like Montmartre \u2013 was on hand to draw the dreamscape as the show unfolded.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" alt=\"A watercolour artist on the set of the Chanel show. Photo: AFPAfter discovering a fairy-tale book in <a target=\"_self\" class=\"e1yy41x40 ef9u0v01 css-1ankfgb ecgc78b0\" href=\"https:\/\/www.scmp.com\/magazines\/style\/luxury\/jewellery\/article\/3327354\/style-shoot-chanels-reach-stars-high-jewellery-collection?module=inline&amp;pgtype=article\" title=\"\" data-qa=\"BaseLink-renderAnchor-StyledAnchor\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">Gabrielle \u201cCoco\u201d Chanel<\/a>\u2019s library, Blazy wondered \u201cif together with the haute couture ateliers, we could make garments that tell stories like a book\u201d, according to the show notes.<\/p>\n<p datatype=\"p\" data-qa=\"Component-Component\" class=\"e8zc9q40 css-1c6uqr6 ec74h0k1\">In a homage to fairy tales, the invitation was a silver pendant in the shape of a book with the words \u201cOnce Upon a Time\u201d engraved on the cover. Look closely, however, and you\u2019ll notice that those checks are actually rendered in three-dimensional braided ropes. Floral appliqu\u00e9s adorned skirt suits and dresses, while accessories included bean- and animal-shaped minaudi\u00e8res. The shoes were a sight to behold.
