The fall\/winter 2026-27 haute couture shows are under way in Paris, where jewellery houses ranging from Boucheron<\/a> to Buccellati and Messika are also showcasing their high jewellery collections.Day two began with one of the most awaited shows of the week \u2013 Matthieu Blazy\u2019s second haute couture effort for Chanel \u2013 and ended with Armani Priv\u00e9, the haute couture line introduced in 2005 by the late Giorgio Armani<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Here\u2019s what to know about the two collections.<\/p>\n

Photo: AFPChanel\u2019s artistic director Matthieu Blazy<\/a> built a magical, fairy-tale land in the Salon d\u2019Honneur of the Grand Palais for the unveiling of the maison\u2019s haute couture fall\/winter 2026-27 range.<\/p>\n

Giant flowers, flying chairs, climbing vines and huge vases adorned the set, conceived in collaboration with designer Martin Br\u00fbl\u00e9. A watercolour painter \u2013 like one of those you often see in Parisian tourist spots like Montmartre \u2013 was on hand to draw the dreamscape as the show unfolded.<\/p>\n

Photo: AFPAfter discovering a fairy-tale book in Gabrielle \u201cCoco\u201d Chanel<\/a>\u2019s library, Blazy wondered \u201cif together with the haute couture ateliers, we could make garments that tell stories like a book\u201d, according to the show notes.<\/p>\n

In a homage to fairy tales, the invitation was a silver pendant in the shape of a book with the words \u201cOnce Upon a Time\u201d engraved on the cover. Inside was a small bean, a reference to Jack and the Beanstalk, one of the stories that inspired the collection.<\/p>\n

The show opened with a series of sheer, deconstructed suits in a check pattern. Look closely, however, and you\u2019ll notice that those checks are actually rendered in three-dimensional braided ropes. Floral appliqu\u00e9s adorned skirt suits and dresses, while accessories included bean- and animal-shaped minaudi\u00e8res. The shoes were a sight to behold.
