But many Herm\u00e8s shoppers online believe it can be at least the amount that the bag itself costs. In other words, to buy a Birkin bag, you could end up spending double the price of the bag, if not more.<\/p>\n This system has generated a lot of buzz around Herm\u00e8s products. Online, people often share tips and tricks that can supposedly help you get closer to purchasing a Herm\u00e8s bag.<\/p>\n One TikTok creator who seems to collect Birkin bags, Mayank Bhatter (@mayankbhatter), shared a new trick that many probably haven\u2019t heard about.<\/p>\n Can This \u2018Trick\u2019 Bring You Closer To Your Birkin Bag Purchase? <\/p>\n In his clip, which has gotten over 979,200 views, Bhatter films the hardware on a black Birkin bag.<\/p>\n \u201cPro Tip: \u2018Accidentally\u2019 remove the plastic off the hardware when they show you any bag so it\u2019s no longer new and they have to give it to you,\u201d the video\u2019s text overlay reads.<\/p>\n Bhatter then smiles at the camera while holding a small piece of what appears to be the plastic cover from the hardware.<\/p>\n \u201cTry it,\u201d he added in the caption.<\/p>\n In the comments, viewers either ridiculed the Herm\u00e8s buying process or questioned the method.<\/p>\n \u201cYou mean \u2018so YOU are forced to BUY it?\u2019\u201d one commenter wrote.<\/p>\n \u201cThis is just bad advice and it will hopefully be sent back to wear it came from so they can put the plastic back on since it\u2019s brand new,\u201d another said.<\/p>\n Someone else admitted they would never do this.<\/p>\n \u201cAm I that cheap, I never remove that,\u201d they wrote.<\/p>\n Bhatter also jumped into the comments himself to clear things up. \u201cIt\u2019s a joke!\u201d he wrote.<\/p>\n Does This Work As A Legitimate \u2018Hack\u2019? <\/p>\n Probably not.<\/p>\n If someone wants to purchase a Birkin or Kelly bag through Herm\u00e8s, they typically have to build a relationship with a sales associate. Outside of simple pre-spend, customers online often say <\/a>there are unspoken rules to follow. Some common ones: don\u2019t act too desperate, show genuine interest in the brand, buy across different categories. Another one is not to make the entire relationship about getting a bag.<\/p>\n Herm\u00e8s fans often call this \u201cthe game.\u201d<\/p>\n There are also things shoppers say can hurt your chances. Reselling a quota bag after getting one from Herm\u00e8s is often treated as a major red flag<\/a> in these communities. Other behavior, like pressuring associates or trying to work with several associates at the same store could also hurt your relationship. <\/p>\n All this to say, if the line is already that fine, then presumably doing something like removing the plastic cover from the hardware would be an immediate no-no.<\/p>\n At best, the associate may just be annoyed.
