\u201cSex and the City\u201d alum Jason Lewis\u00a0reflected on his rocky road to fame and having to sleep on floors in Paris with nearly no money for food before booking the \u201990s hit TV series.<\/p>\n
The actor, who portrayed Samantha Jones\u2019 (Kim Cattrall)\u00a0love interest Smith Jerrod, detailed his struggles when he relocated to Europe to model at the age of 21.<\/p>\n
\u201cI starved for a while,\u201d he shared on a recent episode of his co-star Kristin Davis\u2019 podcast<\/a>, \u201cAre You a Charlotte?\u201d<\/p>\n \u201cSex and the City\u201d alum Jason Lewis (seen here in 2022) opened up about his road to fame and sleeping on floors in Paris before booking the TV series. Getty Images<\/p>\n Lewis, 55, would scout out bakeries and steal a baguette.<\/p>\n \u201cThen, I would go to like an outdoor cafe \u2026 and take a pot of their mustard and dump it on [the baguette], and then I\u2019d have mustard bread sandwiches for a lot of my meals,\u201d he continued.<\/p>\n \u201cSo slept on floors,\u201d the \u201cMr. Brooks\u201d star told Davis, 61, explaining that his life changed when he booked a gig.<\/p>\n \u201cI starved for a while,\u201d he said on a recent episode of Kristin Davis\u2019 podcast, \u201cAre You a Charlotte?\u201d (Seen above: Lewis at the Baja East FW20 Los Angeles runway show in 2020.) Getty Images<\/p>\n \u201cI think my first like decent money started coming in about a year and a half later,\u201d Lewis said. \u201cSo there was like a six-month starvation period where I could buy this one cucumber and this piece of cheese.\u201d<\/p>\n \u201cIt was easy to stay skinny, though,\u201d he quipped.<\/p>\n Lewis\u00a0made his debut as Samantha\u2019s young model boyfriend, Smith, on \u201cSATC\u201d in 2003 for the series\u2019 sixth and final season when he was 32.<\/p>\n Additionally, Lewis (seen here in 2022) slept on floors.
