\n\tEMERALD ISLE: Jonathan Anderson<\/a> is bringing his career full circle, with plans to stage his first fashion show in Ireland<\/a> in December.<\/p>\n

\n\tThe Northern Irish designer plans to unveil his Dior<\/a> pre-fall<\/a> 2027 collection at Trinity College in Dublin on Dec. 4, WWD has learned.<\/p>\n

\n\tAnderson\u2019s first job in fashion was at the Brown Thomas department store in Dublin, and he has collaborated with brewer Guinness<\/a> under his J.W. Anderson label, but this will be the first time he\u2019s presented a collection in the country.<\/p>\n

\n\tIt will also mark Dior<\/a>\u2019s first show in Ireland<\/a>, the house said in a statement shared with WWD exclusively. <\/p>\n

\n\t\u201cThe collection will be unveiled against the backdrop of the university\u2019s Old Library, an 18th-century building housing a world-class academic and cultural institution,\u201d Dior said.<\/p>\n

\n\tAnderson, who presented his Dior cruise 2027 show<\/a> in Los Angeles in May, said he was thrilled to head to Ireland\u2019s oldest university. <\/p>\n

\n\tThe Old Library is raising funds for its first major renovation in more than 300 years, with restoration and construction work due to start next year. It is the subject of a three-part documentary series, featuring alumni including actress Ruth Negga, currently airing on Irish TV channel RT\u00c9 One.<\/p>\n

\n\t\u201cShowing at Trinity College Dublin is a dream come true. I began my career in fashion in Dublin, so returning here feels deeply personal. To present this collection in such an extraordinary setting \u2013 at an institution with such an important cultural history \u2013 is a real honor,\u201d Anderson said.<\/p>\n

\n\tHe\u2019s also innovating with the format of the show. During his predecessor Maria Grazia Chiuri\u2019s tenure, Dior presented its pre-fall<\/a> collections in a look book format in December, and then a second time with traveling runway presentations timed to the collection\u2019s arrival in stores. The last Dior pre-fall runway show was in Kyoto in April 2025<\/a>.<\/p>\n

\n\tDior did not give a reason for the scheduling switch, but it noted that Dublin was the birthplace of Carmel Snow, the editor-in-chief of the U.S. edition of Harper\u2019s Bazaar, who coined the term \u201cNew Look\u201d after seeing founder Christian Dior\u2019s debut collection in 1947.<\/p>\n

\n\tAnderson\u2019s save-the-date features Snow\u2019s now-famous quote alongside a four-leafed clover, which Anderson has made an emblem of his tenure at Dior \u2013 not to be confused with Ireland\u2019s emblem, the shamrock, which usually has three leaves.<\/p>\n
