Dior will stage its pre-fall 2027 show at Trinity College Dublin on 4 December 2026, marking the French fashion house\u2019s first runway presentation in Ireland.<\/p>\n

Jonathan Anderson will unveil the collection at the university\u2019s Old Library. The event will also be the Northern Irish designer\u2019s first fashion show in the country.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Dior said: \u201cThe collection will be unveiled against the backdrop of the university\u2019s Old Library, an 18th-century building housing a world-class academic and cultural resource.\u201d<\/p>\n

The Dublin presentation follows Anderson\u2019s Dior autumn\/winter 2026\/27 haute couture show in Paris<\/a>. Since taking creative control of the house\u2019s menswear, womenswear and couture divisions, he has become the first designer since Christian Dior to oversee all three.<\/p>\n

The show brings Anderson back to the city where he started working in fashion. His first role in the industry was at Dublin department store Brown Thomas, while his J.W. Anderson label has previously collaborated with Irish brewer Guinness.<\/p>\n

In a social media post Anderson shared that he was “so excited and so proud” to be able to show the collection at Ireland’s oldest university.<\/p>\n

“Showing at Trinity College Dublin is a dream come true. I began my career in fashion in Dublin, so returning here feels deeply personal,” he added.<\/p>\n

“To present this collection in such an extraordinary setting \u2013 at an institution with such an important cultural history \u2013 is a real honour.”<\/p>\n

The Old Library is set for its first major renovation in over 300 years. Trinity College\u2019s redevelopment timetable says the building and its Long Room will remain open to visitors until the end of 2027, when restoration and construction work is scheduled to begin.<\/p>\n

The project covers structural and environmental upgrades alongside the conservation of the building, manuscripts and research collections. It will also create a Research Collections Study Centre and redesign the exhibition of the library\u2019s treasures.<\/p>\n

\nDior changes its pre-fall presentation schedule

\n <\/p>\n

The December runway marks a change from Dior\u2019s pre-fall format under Anderson\u2019s predecessor, Maria Grazia Chiuri. During her tenure, the house released its pre-fall collections through look books in December before staging travelling runway shows around their arrival in stores.<\/p>\n

Dior\u2019s last pre-fall runway presentation took place in Kyoto in April 2025. The house has not provided a reason for the scheduling change.<\/p>\n

The Dublin location also links Dior to Carmel Snow, the Dublin-born former editor-in-chief of the US edition of Harper\u2019s Bazaar. According to the Women\u2019s Museum of Ireland, Snow came up with the term ‘New Look’ after she saw Christian Dior\u2019s debut collection in 1947.<\/p>\n

Anderson\u2019s save-the-date combines Snow\u2019s description of Dior\u2019s work with a four-leaf clover, an emblem the designer has used during his tenure at the house.<\/p>\n
