From Paris’s iconic Avenue Montaigne to the hallowed halls of Trinity College Dublin, Dior designer Jonathan Anderson plans to bring his latest collection a little bit closer to home.<\/p>\n

Known as the home of the Book of Kells, the university’s Old Library will play host to the fashion house’s Fall 2027 collection on 4 December.<\/p>\n

It marks Dior’s first-ever show on the island of Ireland.<\/p>\n

Anderson is the first designer since Christian Dior to lead both the women’s and men’s lines at the world-famous French fashion house<\/a>.<\/p>\n

The Northern Ireland-born designer said in a social media post that he was “so excited and so proud” to be able to show the collection at Ireland’s oldest university.<\/p>\n

“Showing at Trinity College Dublin is a dream come true. I began my career in fashion in Dublin, so returning here feels deeply personal,” he added.<\/p>\n

“To present this collection in such an extraordinary setting \u2013 at an institution with such an important cultural history \u2013 is a real honour.”<\/p>\n

The library’s main chamber, known as the Long Room, features 65m-high vaulted ceilings and houses almost 200,000 of the universities oldest books and manuscripts.<\/p>\n

The fashion brand said the collection would be “unveiled against the backdrop of the university’s Old Library, an 18th-century building housing a world-class academic and cultural institution”.<\/p>\n

“This is the first time that Jonathan Anderson has presented a collection in Ireland, and also the first time the House has shown there.”<\/p>\n

The show announcement, which features a line drawing of a four-leaf clover, also includes a quote from Dublin-born journalist Carmel Snow<\/a> who championed the concept of “the well-dressed woman with a well-dressed mind”.<\/p>\n

Snow, who was editor-in-chief of Harper’s Bazaar in the US at the time of Dior’s first collection wrote: “It’s quite a revolution, dear Christian.
