A lavish five-course dinner paired with wines from one of France\u2019s oldest appellations in the southern Rhone region is set for April 16 at Caf\u00e9 Boulud at The Brazilian Court.<\/p>\n
Six wines from Chateau La Nerthe and Ch\u00e2teauneuf-du-Pape will be served with the meal, which begins at 7 p.m. and is part of an ongoing series of monthly wine dinners at Caf\u00e9 Boulud, 301 Australian Ave.<\/p>\n
The dinner courses and their wine pairings have been planned under the oversight of executive chef Christopher Zabita, head pastry chef Rosana Quintero and chief sommelier David Sauer.<\/p>\n
Langoustine aux asperges blanches accented by Marcona almond, lemon confit and verbena is the first course, followed by coquilles\u00a0grill\u00e9es\u00a0au\u00a0safran\u00a0with PEI mussels, tomato confit and puffed wild rice.<\/p>\n
Other courses include chicken Basquaise\u00a0with piperade, chorizo and pickled ramps, and lamb Proven\u00e7al\u00a0with ratatouille, kalamata olive and chickpea panisse. Two different wines will be served with the lamb.<\/p>\n
A ch\u00e8vre mousse with poivre du Sichuan will be featured as part of the final course. \u00a0<\/p>\n
The April 16 wine dinner at Caf\u00e9 Boulud is $270 a person.<\/p>\n
