Karol G launched her Viajando por el Mundo<\/a> Tropitour on Friday 24, July in Chicago, opening her new world tour with the first of two scheduled concerts at Soldier Field. The Colombian singer introduced the live production built around her latest album, Tropicoqueta, premiered a new song titled \u201cMatadora\u201d, and surprised a married couple by promising to send them to Paris to attend her scheduled 2027 concert at Paris<\/a> La D\u00e9fense Arena. The performance marked the beginning of a tour that is expected to span 65 concerts across North America, Latin America and Europe through mid-2027, placing one of Colombia<\/a>\u2019s most recognizable artists back on the road after months of preparation.<\/p>\n

Thousands of fans attended the opening show at Soldier Field, where Karol G combined recent releases with many of the songs that have accompanied her career. Giant LED screens, dancers, tropical-inspired scenery, and multiple costume changes defined a production that reflected the colorful aesthetic of Tropicoqueta. Chicago will also host a second concert before the tour continues to its next destinations.<\/p>\n

The first concert established the musical and visual identity that audiences will see throughout Viajando por el Mundo Tropitour. The production draws inspiration from Tropicoqueta, an album that incorporates Latin American rhythms and imagery into its sound and stage design.<\/p>\n

One of the evening\u2019s biggest moments came when Karol G performed \u201cMatadora\u201d live for the first time. The audience responded with loud cheers as the new song debuted, while many concertgoers raised their phones to record the performance. Within hours, videos of the song circulated across TikTok, Instagram and X, where fans discussed the lyrics and compared the track with the rest of the new album.<\/p>\n

Several North American dates will feature guest appearances by artists including Becky G, Elena Rose and Greeicy, depending on the city. The international itinerary reflects the largest tour Karol G has announced to date, with stadium performances planned across multiple countries during the next year.<\/p>\n
