Investing.com — Airbus reported a sharp rise in second-quarter earnings on Wednesday, driven by higher commercial aircraft deliveries and improved performance across its businesses, while maintaining its full-year 2026 guidance. <\/p>\n
The European planemaker posted second-quarter revenue of \u20ac20.5 billion, up 28% from a year earlier. Adjusted EBIT climbed 54% to \u20ac2.43 billion, while reported EBIT more than doubled to \u20ac2.52 billion. Net income rose 126% to \u20ac1.66 billion, with earnings per share of \u20ac2.10. <\/p>\n
The commercial aircraft division generated revenue of \u20ac15.4 billion, up 37% year-on-year, while reported EBIT surged 150% to \u20ac1.95 billion. Airbus Defence and Space increased revenue 10% to \u20ac3.48 billion, with reported EBIT more than doubling to \u20ac408 million. Helicopters revenue was broadly stable at \u20ac2.08 billion, while reported EBIT edged up 2% to \u20ac175 million. <\/p>\n
Chief Executive Guillaume Faury said the company’s strong second-quarter deliveries reflected steady execution as Airbus ramps up production to meet growing demand for civil and military aircraft. He added that the performance supports confidence in the group’s medium-term outlook. <\/p>\n
The Toulouse, France-based company maintained its forecast of approximately 870 commercial aircraft deliveries for 2026 and kept its earnings guidance unchanged. The manufacturer faced challenges earlier this year, reducing its monthly production plan for the A320 in February and setting conservative delivery targets due to engine supply constraints. <\/p>\n
Airbus delivered 351 aircraft in the first half of 2026, with most deliveries occurring in the second quarter. Earlier difficulties delivering jets to China had negatively affected first-quarter earnings at the commercial business. The company has dealt with manufacturing challenges, including engine problems and parts shortages, primarily from RTX’s Pratt & Whitney division. <\/p>\n
