{"id":59098,"date":"2026-07-30T08:58:23","date_gmt":"2026-07-30T08:58:23","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/france\/59098\/"},"modified":"2026-07-30T08:58:23","modified_gmt":"2026-07-30T08:58:23","slug":"autos-stellantis-swings-to-profit-on-rising-demand-in-north-america","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/france\/59098\/","title":{"rendered":"Autos: Stellantis swings to profit on rising demand in North America"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>A new Jeep Wrangler 4-Door Sahara 4&#215;4 vehicle displayed for sale at a Stellantis NV dealership in Miami, Florida, US, on Saturday, April 5, 2025.<\/p>\n<p>Eva Marie Uzcategui | Bloomberg | Getty Images<\/p>\n<p>Auto giant <a href=\"https:\/\/www.cnbc.com\/quotes\/STLA\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Stellantis<\/a> on Thursday swung to profit in the second quarter, boosted by rising demand in North America as the company showed tentative signs of benefitting from CEO Antonio Filosa&#8217;s <a href=\"https:\/\/www.cnbc.com\/2026\/05\/21\/stellantis-investor-day.html\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">turnaround plan<\/a>. <\/p>\n<p>The multinational conglomerate, which owns household names including Jeep, Dodge, Fiat, Chrysler and Peugeot, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.stellantis.com\/en\/news\/press-releases\/2026\/july\/second-quarter-2026-financial-results\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">posted<\/a> second-quarter net profit of 293 million euros ($335.3 million), versus a loss of 1.87 billion euros <a href=\"https:\/\/www.cnbc.com\/2025\/07\/21\/stellantis-expects-first-half-net-loss-of-2point7-billion-as-tariffs-bite.html\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">a year earlier<\/a>. <\/p>\n<p>Adjusted operating income more than tripled in the second quarter to 773 million euros in the April to June period, from 213 million euros a year earlier. That was below an analyst consensus estimate from Reuters of 914 million euros, however.<\/p>\n<p>Milan-listed shares of Stellantis fell sharply on the news. The stock plunged more than 8% after briefly failing to open on Thursday morning, before paring losses.
