Katie Holmes<\/a> just ran errands with the biggest bag around. And we\u2019re only slightly exaggerating. Stepping out in New York City on Thursday, July 30, the actor was seen in an easy, casual summer look, pairing a classic button-down shirt with a pair of straight-leg blue jeans. But on her shoulder, she carried two statement-making bags\u2014one of which was an unexpected, absolutely massive Louis Vuitton piece.<\/p>\n

The style was, perhaps, more suitcase than shoulder bag. A vintage number from LV\u2019s early-aughts Packall line, it was crafted from coated canvas with smooth rounded corners, a long leather strap, and a secondary top handle for versatility. It featured brass hardware, contrast piping in the house\u2019s signature Safran Imp\u00e9rial, and an all-over monogram print\u2014adding a rare bit of logomania to Holmes\u2019s understated bag collection<\/a>. (Her wardrobe is packed full with classic leather pieces from the likes of M\u00e9tier, the Row, and Loro Piana.)<\/p>\n

Though it was certainly capacious, the one carry-on appeared unable to fit everything needed for the Dawson\u2019s Creek star\u2019s day out. To accommodate the overflow, she grabbed an orange tote as well.<\/p>\n

The bags were, of course, grounded by her simple fit, providing a pop of color and pattern against the muted blue-on-blue hues. Her top, a pale-sky piece, was rolled up at the sleeves, left partially unbuttoned, and half-tucked into the high-waisted denim, where it was secured with a black woven belt. To match, Holmes slipped into black rounded cap-toe ballerina flats with double straps and silver buckle detailing.<\/p>\n
