Beauty entrepreneur Dilesh Mehta, who sold a majority stake in Patou to LVMH Mo\u00ebt Hennessy Louis Vuitton in 2018 and partnered with the French group to build up the French fashion house, has bought it back. <\/p>\n
The transaction was done via Mehta’s holding company Nirvana Investments LLC-FZ. <\/p>\n

Financial terms were not disclosed. <\/p>\n
“It has been a privilege to build Patou<\/a> alongside LVMH from its modern relaunch,” the entrepreneur said in a brief statement shared first with WWD. “We now look forward to building on that foundation and continuing Patou’s growth with the same long-term vision, respect for its heritage and ambition for the future.” <\/p>\n Founder of Nirvana Brands and Designer Parfums, Mehta’s owned and licensed brands include Ghost, Cerruti 1881, Ariana Grande, Jennifer Lopez and Hawaiian Tropic. Designer Parfums also distributes other scents including ones by Guy Laroche, Gant, Aigner and Paloma Picasso. <\/p>\n Last February, Patou parted ways with artistic director Guillaume Henry<\/a> after a fruitful seven-year collaboration, having revived a fashion label that had been dormant for 30 years. His final effort for the brand was the fall 2026 collection. <\/p>\n Under the French designer’s tenure, Patou grew to 100 stockists worldwide and opened stores across South Korea and Japan, markets where the brand gained swift early traction. Its permanent Parisian address, after a well-received pop-up dubbed Patou Market, bowed in at Galeries Lafayette Haussmann in 2023. <\/p>\n Born in 1887, Jean Patou opened his fashion house in Paris in 1914 and became one of the great names of couture of the 1920s and 1930s, specializing in ladylike, elegant and uncluttered country-club clothes. <\/p>\n After his death in 1936, the house collaborated with several resident designers, the most famous of which were Marc Bohan, Karl Lagerfeld and Christian Lacroix, whom LVMH famously lured away from Patou to set him up in his own company as part of LVMH in 1987. <\/p>\n Best of WWD <\/p>\n Sign up for WWD’s Newsletter<\/a>.
